  • Publication number: 20070240128
Abstract: Systems and methods generate user interfaces using a description of a business ontology and a pattern language describing a layout for business objects in the business ontology. The layout description is analyzed and code may be generated to produce the output layout according to the layout description. One aspect of the system and methods includes generating HTML code. A further aspect of the system and methods includes generating Java Swing code. A still further aspect of the systems and methods includes generating user interface code for a desktop application. The layout description may describe a layout in a manner that is display device independent, and that does not rely on absolute positioning of elements. Business object data and fields within a business object may be positioned relative to one another and may further be positioned based on the order in the layout description.
