  • Publication number: 20110235652
Abstract: A method and circuit for implementing enhanced link bandwidth for a headless interconnect chip in a local rack interconnect system, and a design structure on which the subject circuit resides are provided. The headless interconnect chip includes a cut through switch and a store and forward switch. A packet is received from an incoming link to be transmitted on an outgoing link on the headless interconnect chip. Both the cut through switch and the store and forward switch are selectively used for moving packets received from the incoming link to the outgoing link on the headless interconnect chip.

  • Publication number: 20100269312
Abstract: A slide fastener assembly and method of attachment allows for simple installation or replacement of molded slider assemblies, metal zipper assemblies, or both or either halves of separating zipper assemblies. A cohesive fastener is attached to the leading edges of surfaces where a slide fastener is connected. A corresponding cohesive fastener is attached to either surface of a zipper tape of a slider assembly. The slider assembly is pressed together with corresponding cohesive surfaces where the slide fastener is to be connected, holding the slide fastener securely in place. In another embodiment, a slide fastener is manufactured with cohesive material that is integral to the zipper tape. In another embodiment, a slide fastener is attached by connection means to a band, which is connected to an outer perimeter of a frame and inner perimeter of a panel.

  • Publication number: 20100129192
Abstract: The invention is a compression method having characteristics of smooth compression and internal cooling of the gas. Embodiments of the invention employ a cylindrical chamber and an orbiting rotor to create a moving duct or chamber whose walls converge, relative to a static gas packet drawn into the moving duct, at a ‘pinch point’. Preferably the closing speed of the walls is subsonic and the speed of the pinch point is supersonic. This enables high pressure to co-exist, at the narrowing end of the duct, with low pressure elsewhere in the duct, because of the pressure information barrier produced by the supersonic advance of the pinch point. The invention also discloses means for adjusting the running clearance between the cylinder and the rotor, and means for counterbalancing the rotor.

  • Publication number: 20090175754
Abstract: This invention relates to gadolinium-containing magnesium containing alloys, particularly those which possess high strength combined with corrosion resistance, and an optimized balance of strength and ductility. The described alloys consist of 2.0 to 5.0, preferably 2.3 to 4.6, at % in total of gadolinium and at least one of soluble heavy lanthanides and yttrium, wherein the ratio of the aggregate amount of soluble heavy lanthanides and yttrium to the amount of gadolinium is between 1.25:1 and 1.75:1, from 0 up to 0.3 at % of zirconium, preferably at least 0.03 at %, optionally with zinc, wherein when zinc is present the amount of zinc is such that the ratio of the weight of zinc to the weight of zirconium is preferably less than 2:1, all other lanthanides in an aggregate amount of less than at 0.2 at %, the balance being magnesium, with any other element being present in an amount of no more than 0.2 at %.

  • Publication number: 20070244816
Abstract: Systems and methods for opening, funding, and/or using a financial account are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a computer-implemented method for providing a financial account includes receiving a request from a user to open a financial account. In response to receiving the request, the method further includes providing a plurality of unused checks to the user. The method additionally includes receiving a first check which has been used in commerce and includes a first signature of the user, and storing an image of the first signature from the first check. The method further includes receiving a second check which has been used in commerce and includes a second signature of the user, and comparing the second signature on the second check to the image of the first signature to authenticate the second signature.
