  • Patent number: 10135709
Abstract: Embodiments presented herein provide techniques for evaluating an asynchronous application using a test framework. The test framework may perform a load test of an asynchronous application or service composed from a collection of applications or services. To do so, the test framework may submit transactions to a distributed application at a specified transaction rate and monitor how the distributed application operates at that transaction rate. An aggregate load test component may evaluate the remaining work pending at work accumulation points of the distributed application to determine whether the distributed application can sustain the specified transaction rate. A transaction tracking component may initiate transactions to generate load at the specified transaction rate without blocking while the transactions are processed by the distributed application.

  • Patent number: 9860155
Abstract: Techniques described herein provide for real-time observation of utilization of one or more resources by a system in response to an input. The real-time observation by a system may occur in an environment in which end users supply inputs to the system (e.g., a production environment). In various embodiments, a server system may provide a service to a client system. A client system may take advantage of this service by sending an input to the server system. In response, the server system may perform the provisioned service using the input from the client system. In connection with the service, the utilization of resources (e.g., by a process) and/or the client system-supplied input may be recorded, such as when resources are utilized in an unexpected or interesting manner. These records may be used at a later time for testing and analysis.

  • Publication number: 20170364843
Abstract: This disclosure describes methods, apparatuses, and systems for providing visualizations of workflows. Data associated with successes and failures of individual components of workflows can be collected and aggregated to provide an overview of the operation of workflows, as well as allowing a software developer to troubleshoot operations of the workflow. Status indications of steps can be visualized in a graphical user interface (GUI), for example, and faults can be identified and presented in the GUI. By aggregating workflow data across hundreds, thousands, or even millions of workflows, a user can quickly determine the overall operations of the workflow, as well as areas of the workflow that may need improvement.

  • Patent number: 9700888
Abstract: Disclosed is a microfluidic cartridge that can perform highly accurate lab quality DNA tests and other amplification based tests at the point of care. The cartridge may have slanted channels that angle downward from the inlet well, where the sample is deposited, to the reaction well, where the sample will flow down to and initiate the reaction. In some examples, the cartridge may be fabricated from specific materials that enhance passive flow through the channels. Additionally, the reaction wells have an access port that allows ventilation to the reaction wells that enhances the flow of the sample from the inlet to the reaction well. The access ports allow convenient access for depositing the reaction mixture into the reaction wells after the cartridge is fabricated.

  • Publication number: 20170175169
Abstract: The inventors have developed a clinical decision support system (“CDSS”) and associated devices to diagnose chronic diseases in patients using a large number of biomarkers. The inventors have utilized a process for identifying thousands of biomarkers that could be relevant to potential diseases. Once these biomarkers are identified, the ones that have the most affinity for relevant biomarkers are retained. Then, a clinical decision support system can utilize the thousands of biomarkers, and apply a DNN based machine learning algorithm to diagnose chronic diseases.

  • Patent number: 9411422
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for enabling user interaction with content markers of a content item. Content markers can generally correspond to any point of interest in the content item. In one embodiment, a scrub bar is provided enabling user navigation to locations within the content item. As a user utilizes the scrub bar to select a location corresponding to a content marker, a haptic notification is provided to the user indicative of a corresponding point of interest. Thereafter, the user may halt interaction with the scrub bar to being playback of the content item at the point of interest. In another embodiment, a user is enabled to provide input perpendicular to a displayed scrub bar to alternate between multiple available scrub bars and/or points of interest. For example, multiple scrub bars may be provided, each associated with a given type of point of interest.

  • Patent number: 9214186
Abstract: A data storage device is disclosed comprising a disk comprising a plurality of tracks and a head actuated over the disk, wherein the head comprises a read element radially offset from a write element. A first pattern is written to a single track, and the first pattern is read from the single track to generate a first read signal from which a first quality metric is generated. A second pattern is written to the single track, wherein the second pattern is different from the first pattern. The second pattern is read from the single track to generate a second read signal from which a second quality metric is generated. The radial offset of the read element and write element is measured based on the first and second quality metrics.

Abstract: An apparatus may include a tubular, a first isolator connected to the tubular and configured to engage an interior surface of the wellbore, a first pressure gauge connected to the tubular and configured to take multiple pressure readings over a period of time, and a first perforation gun connected to the tubular without compromising the communication of fluid through an inner flow channel of the tubular. A method may include placing the apparatus in a wellbore, and actuating the isolator to provide isolation of a first zone in a formation. The method may include activating the perforation gun to provide fluid communication between an annulus of the wellbore and the zone in the formation. The method may include allowing the pressure gauge to take a plurality of pressure readings over a period of time. Based on the pressure readings, the method may include determining a formation characteristic.
