  • Publication number: 20070034205
Abstract: This invention integrates the receiver as a support with improved performance and rigidity and eliminates moving fluidic components that increase the units overall reliability and lowers construction costs. The cable drive mount system provides foul weather operation coupled with a slip clutch for un anticipated loads. Integrating the sun tracker into the parabolic trough body eliminates the need for timing and calibration.

  • Publication number: 20060060721
Abstract: An apparatus to modify a wing to provide increased lift over drag ratios and reduced noise compared to similar wings with straight leading edges. For wings extending in a lateral direction, and defining a longitudinal upstream direction, the apparatus forms a laterally extending leading edge facing in the upstream direction. The apparatus forms a plurality of protrusions spaced laterally along the leading edge, the protrusions creating a smoothly varying, alternately forward-and-aft sweep along the leading edge relative to the upstream flow direction along the leading edge. The protrusions may contain instruments, and may be deployable and retractable.

  • Publication number: 20050063687
Abstract: This invention embodies an variable specific gravity horizontal baffle that can follow the border of a temperature gradient of a working fluid of higher and lower temperatures by generating it's own control power from the differential temperatures with thermoelectric modules driving shape memory alloy Nitenol Wires to open and close water shutters designed to reduce water resistance to the baffle's changing positions.
