  • Patent number: 11147268
Abstract: The present invention is for sanitizing compositions for sanitizing surfaces which may contact food. The composition may be provided in liquid form, and may include a quaternary amine, one or more surfactant, a fragrance, and water. At least 90% by weight of the fragrance comprises fragrance components that meet Class I qualifications of the Cramer classification system. All other components of the composition (e.g., the quaternary amine, the surfactants, water, and any optional components) meet the EPA guidelines under CFR 180.940(a). Since the composition only includes components that meet the EPA guidelines under CFR 180.940(a) (reflecting a presumption of low toxicity), and at least 90% of the fragrance itself (e.g., in the case of mixtures of fragrance components) meets the Cramer Class I qualifications, the composition is safe for application to surfaces that come in contact with food, where there is a heightened probability that traces of the composition will be ingested.

  • Publication number: 20140059752
Abstract: An apparatus for applying a cleaning substance to a bathroom surface to be cleaned includes a body that is dissolvable in water, the body having an elongate, distally-facing wall defining a cavity for releasably retaining the cleaning substance until the body is dislodged by flowing water. For toilet surface applications, the apparatus includes a cleaning substance and a body that is dissolvable in water. The body has a distally-facing cavity for releasably retaining the cleaning substance and a proximally-extending gripping mechanism to permit the user to grip the body and then press the cleaning substance against the toilet surface. The body is configured to release the cleaning substance to permit the body to be dislodged. A method for applying a cleaning substance includes the following steps: employing the water dissolvable body to apply the cleaning substance to the toilet bowl; and removing the body thereby leaving the cleaning substance.

  • Publication number: 20140059751
Abstract: Apparatus for applying cleaning substance to toilet bowl includes body having a wall defining a distally-facing cavity for releasably retaining the cleaning substance. The cavity may be greater in width than depth, and the body may have a proximally-extending mechanism configured to facilitate gripping the apparatus and applying the cleaning substance when the cleaning substance is pressed against the toilet bowl. For bathroom surface applications, body can have a proximally-extending releasing mechanism configured to selectively deform, the wall and thereby deform the cavity to release the cleaning substance from the cavity when the cleaning substance is pressed against the surface. Method for cleaning toilets employs above-defined wall having distally-disposed terminal edge whereby pressing the cleaning substance against the toilet bowl and manipulating the wall via the releasing mechanism distorts wall and cavity to release cleaning substance from cavity and apply substance to toilet bowl.
