  • Publication number: 20240315217
Abstract: There is provided a smart aquaculture growth and health monitoring system and method for monitoring the growth and health of an aquatic species present in an aquaculture growth habitat. The system comprises a georeferenced location beacon of the growth habitat, a sample container to sample water and aquatic species from the growth habitat and being configured to permit an electronic device having camera such as a smart phone to acquire digital visual data on said sample, a processor is communicatively linkable to the electronic device and optionally to a communications network, the processor being operable to receive the digital visual data; determine, based on the digital visual data, growth and/or health parameters of the aquatic species in the sample; and to retransmit data on the growth and/or health parameters of the aquatic species back to the electronic device.

  • Patent number: 12014542
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for selecting representative frames for videos is provided. The method includes receiving a video and identifying a set of features for each of the frames of the video. The features including frame-based features and semantic features. The semantic features identifying likelihoods of semantic concepts being present as content in the frames of the video. A set of video segments for the video is subsequently generated. Each video segment includes a chronological subset of frames from the video and each frame is associated with at least one of the semantic features. The method generates a score for each frame of the subset of frames for each video segment based at least on the semantic features, and selecting a representative frame for each video segment based on the scores of the frames in the video segment. The representative frame represents and summarizes the video segment.

  • Patent number: 11920581
Abstract: Aspects are provided for positive displacement pumps and methods and systems for controlling such pumps for dispensing at a flow rate based on a downstream flow sensor. A pump controller determines a targeted motor speed for a flow rate set point based on a flow rate function. The pump controller determines a predicted movement time for a motor of the pump to change from a current motor speed to the targeted motor speed, a predicted wait time to reach a flow rate corresponding to the targeted motor speed, and a measurement time after the wait time. The pump controller controls the positive displacement pump according to consecutive control cycles, each control cycle includes a pump movement sub-cycle, a wait sub-cycle, and a measurement sub-cycle. The pump controller determines a measured flow rate during the measurement sub-cycle. A subsequent control cycle is based on the measured flow rate.

  • Patent number: 11846279
Abstract: Aspects are provided for positive displacement pumps and methods and systems for controlling such positive displacement pumps for accurate volume dispensing. The pump may run a calibration procedure to determine a mapping between a pump speed and a flow rate for a current configuration of the positive displacement pump, a tubing size, and a fluid characteristic. A pump controller may determine a pump motion profile based on the mapping. The pump motion profile includes an acceleration phase, a constant speed phase, and a deceleration phase such that a total volume pumped according to the pump motion profile and the mapping is equal to a target volume. The pump controller may determine an adjustment to the pump motion profile based on a constant flow rate measured during operation. The pump controller may decelerate the positive displacement pump according to the adjusted pump motion profile until the target volume is dispensed.

  • Publication number: 20210017786
Abstract: A method for forming a fence includes forming first and second feet each having at least two extensions thereon, wherein at least three extensions are spaced apart and parallel to each other; forming a frame having first, second and third elongated posts, wherein the first elongated post is below the extensions projecting from the first and second feet, wherein the third elongated post is positioned above the first and second posts, and wherein the second support post is positioned between the first and third elongated posts; and forming a wire mesh on the frame and welded to the three elongated posts.

  • Patent number: 10888621
Abstract: Provided are an injectable tissue adhesive hydrogel including gamma-cyclodextrin (?-CD). When such an injectable tissue adhesive hydrogel including the ?-CD is used as a skin glue, based on a fact that the ?-CD has a bigger hydrophobic cavity than that of ?- and ?-CDs, the injectable tissue adhesive hydrogel including the ?-CD has stronger interactions than host-guest interactions. In addition, hydrogen bonding in the injectable tissue adhesive hydrogel including the ?-CD can improve both cohesiveness and adhesiveness of gelatin. The injectable tissue adhesive hydrogel including the ?-CD having excellent cell viability is used for adhesion of a skin incision, to thereby effectively promote tissue regeneration.
