  • Patent number: 9324352
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods for identifying similarly located wireless devices. In a particular embodiment, a method provides processing location information that indicates past locations of the wireless communication devices to generate location profiles for the wireless communication devices. The method further provides processing groups of the location profiles to determine location-similarity metrics among the location profiles within the groups and determining if any of the location-similarity metrics for any of the groups satisfies a similarity criteria indicating similarly located devices. If one of the location-similarity metrics for one of the groups satisfies the similarity criteria, then the method provides generating device information indicating a location-association among the wireless communication devices that correspond to the location profiles in that one group.

  • Patent number: 9226258
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods for deriving a wireless device location from base station signaling. In a particular embodiment, a method provides monitoring signaling transmitted by a base station serving a plurality of wireless communication devices. The method further provides identifying a wireless communication device of the plurality of wireless communication devices from the signaling and identifying an active set carried in the signaling that is associated with the wireless communication device. The method further provides determining a location of the wireless communication device based on the active set.

  • Patent number: 8818409
Abstract: A frequent location determination system to identify a location frequented by a wireless communication device comprises a processing system. The processing system is configured to process network usage data for the wireless communication device to identify a cell sector in a wireless communication network that is used by the wireless communication device more than a plurality of other cell sectors in the wireless communication network. The processing system is further configured to process user data transferred by the wireless communication device from the cell sector to identify Global Positioning System (GPS) data, and to process the GPS data to determine a subset of the GPS data that indicates locations in the cell sector. The processing system is further configured to process the subset of the GPS data that indicates the locations in the cell sector to determine a frequent location of the wireless communication device within the cell sector.

  • Patent number: 8666429
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods for extracting location signatures from data received from mobile devices on a wireless communication network. In a particular embodiment, a method provides, upon determining a location of a wireless communication device, receiving data generated by an application executing on the wireless communication device and using the location to determine whether the data contains information pertaining to the location of the wireless communication device. If the data contains the information pertaining to the location of the wireless communication device, the method provides identifying a location signature specific to the application and using the location signature to determine whether subsequent data transferred from a plurality of wireless communication devices contains information pertaining to a location of any of the plurality of wireless communication devices.

  • Patent number: 8559956
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods for determining whether a wireless device has departed a femtocell. In a particular embodiment, a method provides determining one or more wireless devices that are registered with a wireless femtocell and are not currently exchanging communications with the wireless femtocell. If a control signal from at least one wireless base station is available, the method provides receiving the control signal and processing the control signal to determine whether a portion of the wireless devices are registered with the at least one wireless base station. The method further provides indicating that the portion of the wireless devices registered with the at least one wireless base station are no longer registered with the wireless femtocell.

  • Publication number: 20130165168
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods for deriving population counts and device flow characteristics on wireless communication networks. In a particular embodiment, a method provides receiving a first control signal transmitted by a first base station serving a first wireless sector and receiving a second control signal transmitted by a second base station serving a second wireless sector. The method further provides deriving a population count of a geographic area using device identifiers enumerated within the first and second control signals.
