When the blade presses a cable against a planar surface, and when a switch of the driving unit is actuated to rotate the rotating unit, the engagement surface of the impact rod moves rearward away from the engagement surface of the cutter rod against the biasing action of the spring until the push rod reaches a rear limit position, after which the impact rod is biased by the spring to move forward to impact on the cutter rod, thereby cutting the cable with the blade.

    Abstract: A power drill includes a casing, a bit-carrying shaft provided with a front toothed member, a rear toothed member fixed on the casing, a driving unit, and a speed reduction device which interconnects the driving unit and the shaft so as to rotate the shaft at a speed smaller than that of the driving unit. The speed reduction device includes a planetary gear train provided with an internal gear mounted in the casing, and a coiled compression spring which presses the internal gear against an inner wall of the casing so as to fix the internal gear in the casing. An adjustment member is mounted rotatably on the casing and cannot move axially on the casing. The compression spring is located between the internal gear and the stepped portion of the adjustment member.

A current limiting resistor serially interconnects the rectifier unit and the battery unit. A control unit is in series with the battery unit and includes a temperature switch, an excess current protective device in series with the switch, and a high resistance heating unit connected across the series combination of the switch and the protective device.

    Abstract: A battery charging device includes a step-down unit which receives an external alternating current line voltage input and which reduces the line voltage input to an appropriate level. A rectifier unit receives the reduced line voltage input from the step-down unit and generates a direct current signal to charge a rechargeable battery unit which is serially connected to the rectifier unit via a current limiting resistor. A control unit has a temperature switch and a high resistance heating unit which is connected across the temperature switch. The switch and the heating unit are provided in a single circuit package. The switch is serially connected to the battery unit and is closed when the temperature of the battery unit is below a predetermined limit. The switch is opened so as to permit the direct current signal to flow through the heating unit when the temperature of the battery unit reaches the predetermined limit.

    Abstract: A valve assembly is interposed between the cylinder body and the cylinder cover of a piston compressor in which a piston assembly is provided slidably in the cylinder body. The valve assembly has an inlet passage with an increased-diameter inlet chamber, and an outlet passage with an increased-diameter outlet chamber. When the piston assembly moves away from the valve assembly in a suction stroke, an inlet valve rests on the inlet projections in the inlet chamber so as to enable gas to flow into the cylinder body, while an outlet valve closes the outlet passage, so as to prevent gas from flowing out of the cylinder body. When the piston assembly moves toward the valve assembly in a compression stroke, the inlet valve closes the inlet passage so as to prevent gas from flowing into the cylinder body, while the outlet valve rests on the outlet projections in the outlet chamber so as to enable gas to flow from the cylinder body.
