  • Patent number: 4944198
Abstract: The tool-holder turret for lathes or like machining centers has a fixed support member (1; 52) bearing a rotary member (4; 51) to which there may be attached a tool-holder plate designed to bear a plurality of tools, each of which can brought into the operating position by the rotation of the rotary member, a drive motor (12; 54) also being provided, which is connected to a geared differential transmission unit (15, 18, 20; 47, 18, 20; 57, 64, 66) having three members, the first member, called the driver (15; 47; 57), being connected to the motor and controlling, on one hand, the opening and closing of the turret and, on the other hand, the rotation of its rotary member, the second member, which can be driven in rotation, of the differential unit (18; 18; 64) being connected to the rotary member and the third member, which can be driven in rotation, of the differential unit (20; 20; 66) being connected, via interposed cam transmission means (21, 23; 71, 72), to a rotationally fixed and axially movable member

  • Patent number: 4775041
Abstract: A compact friction clutch for a compressor in which both the driving hub and the driven hub are mounted on the compressor shaft external of the compressor housing and a piston recessed in an end wall of the housing bears upon the bell controlling the clutch-disk stack to relieve the clutch applying force of a spring.

  • Patent number: 4704926
Abstract: A turret for an automatic lathe has a coupling sleeve connected with the driven shafts at each of a plurality of tool stations and actuated by a plunger displaceable parallel to the turret axis to couple the sleeve with the driven shaft when the tool is positioned at the working location. All of the driven shafts are continuously rotated by gearing connecting the driven shafts with the drive shaft extending along the axis of the turret.

  • Patent number: 4657127
Abstract: A clutch is provided for linking a compressor with a drive therefor, particularly for heavy vehicles. The clutch includes a rotatable housing linked to the drive mounted in bearings of a clutch casing, the housing carrying on its outside a pack of clutch rings which alternate with a pack of clutch rings carried on the inside of a sliding, rotatable drum which is linked to the compressor. The pack of clutch rings are normally compressed together by springs and can be released by a pneumatically-operable piston which comes into play by build-up of air pressure and presses against part of the drum against the resilient bias.

  • Patent number: 4572343
Abstract: This invention describes a clutch device with automatic disengagement in case of overloading, useful especially for the rear power take-offs of agricultural tractors, which can be inserted in a conventional clutch casing, replacing the flywheel and the mechnical clutch of the power take-off, in which means exist for commanding the automatic disengagement of the clutch by detecting variations in magnetic flux which occur in the case of slip between the rotor and the armature of the clutch.

  • Patent number: 4558611
Abstract: An angular divider device is described for worktables, toolholder turrets or the like, in which the number of positions of the subdivision is not predetermined and can be of any desired value, even of very small order such as 1.degree. or even less, without the necessity of positions constrained by mechanical arresting devices such as slots and associated latches, the exactness of the position achieved being determined by the coupling of basic fixed and movable crown gear wheels.

  • Patent number: 4422352
Abstract: A rotatable turret for bringing any selected one of a plurality of tool holders into operative position relative to a workpiece, is characterized in that the turret can be rotated in either direction so that it need follow only the shortest path between the location of the old tool holder and the location of the new tool holder when changing from tool to tool. For this purpose, the turret has a rotatable hub with a plurality of blocks on its periphery slidable relative thereto in directions parallel to the axis of rotation, into and out of slots on a fixed member, the location of the slots corresponding to the operative locations of the tool holders. The blocks are all secured to the keeper ring of an annular electromagnet, whose strength is sufficient to retain the keeper ring attracted when the blocks are out of the slots, but whose strength is insufficient to retain the keeper ring when the blocks are in the slots.

  • Patent number: 4335633
Abstract: An electrically actuated tailstock for machine tools, program-controllable both manually and automatically, the movements of which are effected in sequence, producing initially a rapid approach, then a slow thrust movement until the pre-determined pressure load is achieved and, finally, the stopping of the movement with the simultaneous actuation of an electro-magnetic brake for the maintenance of the pressure load during the entire period of operation. The return movement is rapid and can be limited. The thrust load on the axis of the tailstock center is transmitted by resilient means, and is made visible to the operator in the desired value.
