  • Publication number: 20040134556
Abstract: A heat insulating system for tubular bodies comprises at least two superimposed evacuated panels (4, 4′), at least one of which is essentially formed by an evacuated envelope inside which a polymeric filling material is contained, and at least one other is essentially formed by an evacuated envelope inside which an inorganic filler is present, in the form of powders, fibers or their mixtures. Each of said evacuated panels (4, 4′) is rolled up on itself to the extent that two opposed edges thereof (5, 5′), that are parallel to the rolling axis, are mutually set side by side. • Publication number: 20030124300
Abstract: The present invention teaches a process for manufacturing a flexible thermoinsulating device, which is usable to obtain the thermal insulation of a body having non-flat surfaces. The process starts with obtaining a rigid vacuum panel comprising an evacuated envelope inside which there is disposed a filling material formed of at least a board of open cell rigid polymeric foam, to an operation of localized compression along at least a linear portion of the panel. Through this compression operation at least a slot is formed on at least a face of a board of filling material adjacent to the envelope. The present invention besides relates to the flexible thermoinsulating device obtained through said process.

  • Publication number: 20030101683
Abstract: An evacuated panel (2) is provided which enables the thermal insulation of a cylindrical body (1) having two substantially rectangular main faces, formed of a flexible envelope (4) made of one or more barrier sheets, and containing a discontinuous or porous, inorganic or polymeric filling material (3). The panel has a thickness such that the ratio between this thickness and the minimum bending radius of the lateral wall of the cylindrical body is small enough so as to enable the winding of the panel without compromising the integrity thereof, and a length such that it allows at least two windings around the body (1).

  • Publication number: 20030091776
Abstract: The present invention relates to a tubular thermoinsulating device (10; 20; 30), comprising an evacuated envelope made of barrier sheets inside which an inorganic or polymeric, discontinuous or porous filling material (13; 23) is contained. Said envelope comprises an internal tubular element (11; 21; 31) and an external tubular element (12; 22; 32) of higher diameter, which are coaxially arranged one inside the other and are reciprocally sealed at their circular edges. The circular edges of said external tubular element (12; 22; 32) are adapted to the circular edges of said internal tubular element (11; 21; 31) by means of two plies (17, 17′; 25, 25′; 35, 35′). The present invention also relates to some processes for manufacturing said thermoinsulating device.
