  • Publication number: 20220313687
Abstract: Described herein are i) sequestering agents and ii) central nervous system (CNS) active agents for the treatment of intoxication due to toxic agents such as drugs of abuse, and associated symptoms. Also disclosed herein, are a cucurbituril and naloxone for use in the treatment of opioid overdoses through sequestering and excretion of the bound molecule of interest through the urine. Also provided herein, are kits and methods of treatment of the disclosure.

  • Publication number: 20180180564
Abstract: A device and method for detecting presence of a hazardous material in an environment or through a testing material, such as for example, a protective material. The device may include a sensor for detecting presence of the hazardous material. In particular, the hazardous material may have a vapor pressure of less than 0.5 mmHg. The sensor may comprise a conductive polymer, a semi-conductive polymer or an electroactive polymer, the sensor being chemically reactive with the hazardous material to generate a change in electrical resistance in the sensor. The device may include one or more conductive electrodes attached to the sensor configured to detect change in resistance in the sensor, and a resistance measuring device electronically connected to the one or more electrodes for receiving data from the electrodes and generating an output based on the data corresponding to an amount of hazardous material detected by the sensor in real-time.
