  • Patent number: 4929427
Abstract: Equipment for measuring the rate of erythrosettling of blood comprises a plurality of pipettes, a rack for holding the pipettes upright, and a closure element for the bottom end of each pipette. The rack includes an elongated pedestal, a portal attached to the pedestal, a plurality of seats adapted to receive the pipettes by snap action and formed in the portal, and a bridge element associated with the portal and straddling it. The bridge element is displaceable elastically from a home position to a working position interfering with the pipettes, for simultaneously removing the pipettes from their snap-action holding seats. The invention affords the advantage that the operator is not required to come in contact with the blood being analyzed.

  • Patent number: 4895167
Abstract: A device for collecting and holding urine, for use in analytical laboratories, comprises a cylindrical, test tube-shaped container, a stopper fitted to the container and having a body which is through-penetrated coaxially by a first passageway and off-centrally by a second passageway, a funnel-shaped member having an outlet mouth fitted to the first passageway, a thin tube fast with the stopper at the second passageway and extending toward the bottom of the container as far as a predetermined distance off said bottom, a mount formed between the outlet mouth and the first passageway, for univocally oriented application of the mouth fitting to the passageway, and a closure element for said passageways connected to the stopper by means of a hinge. This device enables collection of a strictly constant amount of urine between individual devices.

  • Patent number: 4865988
Abstract: A microbiological culture device which affords improved lapping over a surface to be tested comprises an elongated plate carrying a culture medium, a tubular case for the plate, and a stopper for the case made fast with one end of the plate and providing a handgrip for holding the plate, as well as an elastically deformable bridge formed on the plate the one end.

  • Patent number: 4842826
Abstract: A device for collecting physiological samples, in particular coprological samples, which affords improved sanitary conditions of operation, comprises a container, a cap for said container, a pick-up stick fastened to the cap, a passageway extending through said cap, and a stopper for hermetically sealing off said passageway.

  • Patent number: 4550845
Abstract: A bottle closure, designed to make apparent any previous opening, consists of a cap, a collar extending coaxially in elongation of the cap, a line of weakness between the cap and the collar. A plurality of tabs project inwardly from the collar and are arranged close to the line of weakness and designed to engage in a circumferential recess which is made on the inside of the cap in proximity to the line of weakness, serving as a bridge across the line of weakness. When the cap is removed from the collar the tabs snap out of the recess and cannot re-enter it, so that a fissure is visible between the cap and the collar, showing that the cap has been removed.

  • Patent number: 4494664
Abstract: A tamper evident closure for bottles and containers includes a cap and a tamper-indicating lower ring or belt, those two parts are linked together by a weak breakable circumferential area, which will break at opening of the container leaving behind the lower ring. This closure is the result of a simplified manufacturing process that forms the breakable circumferential area by forming misaligned cuts about the circumference of the closure between the upper cap and lower ring. Upon opening, the lower ring moves down on the neck of the container. Upon reclosing, the space between the cap and ring makes the prior opening of the bottle very evident.

  • Patent number: 4372456
Abstract: The invention provides a security closure, particularly for single-measure bottles, of the type in which a screw cap is connected by breakable links to a ring engaged with a flange on the bottle neck. The lateral wall of the cap has at least one portion which is cut along its edges facing the rest of the wall and is connected to the ring by one or more breakable links only. When the cap is unscrewed and the links are broken the wall portions are completely detached and fall away from the cap so that, if the cap is subsequently screwed back into contact with the ring, the fact that the wall portions are missing will warn the consumer that the closure is broken.

  • Patent number: 3957944
Abstract: A method of making a closure device for a can or other container is disclosed wherein the device has a tubular element of flexible plastics material attachable to a container wall and an upper portion which can be folded inwardly inside a lower portion in the manner of a bellows to retract the tubular element which is closed by a removable lid having external handles by which the lid and the tubular element can be pulled out, the lid being removable by rupture of a weakened bridge portion and being re-usable for re-closing the container. The closure device is molded in one piece and then folded into its retracted condition automatically upon withdrawal of the mold core, so that no additional manufacturing steps are necessary.

  • Patent number: 3937348
Abstract: A closure device with a guarantee seal for bottles of the type having a screw thread and a radial shoulder, formed as by a collar or thickened portion, on the neck thereof is disclosed. The closure device comprises a cap with an elongate skirt to the rim of which is connected, by a frangible connection, a tubular anchoring member which carries a plurality of axially extending resilient tongues which, when the device is in position, latch under the radial shoulder to prevent removal of the anchoring member. The cap itself thus cannot be removed without breaking the guarantee seal formed by the frangible connection between the skirt of the cap and the anchoring member. To prevent breakage of the frangible connection while the closure device is being fitted the inner face of the skirt and the outer faces of the tongues are provided with cooperating ribs and grooves so that torque can be transmitted directly from the cap to the tongues, bypassing the frangible connection.

  • Patent number: 3933284
Abstract: A security closure device for a bottle, which is intended to prevent the fraudulant refilling of a bottle is disclosed. The bottle closure device disclosed has an internal valve which is held shut when the device is in a normal upright position by the weight of a ball which is trapped in a valve chamber between the valve shutter and a plurality of inclined radial ribs. The inclination of the radial ribs is such that when the bottle closure device is held with its axis horizontal the ball rolls down those of the ribs which are lowermost at the time and into engagement with the valve shutter to hold this shut against the valve seat. In order to open the valve it is necessary to tilt the bottle closure device to a position past the horizontal where the ball can roll along the edges of those of the radial ribs which are lowermost at the time to release the valve shutter and allow liquid to flow from the bottle.
