Abstract: An expedient synthesis of 4-(6-methoxynaphth-2-yl)-2-butanone is carried out by reacting 2-bromo-6-methoxynaphthalene with 3-ethylenedioxybutene in the presence of PdCl.sub.2 and triphenylphosphine, hydrogenating the 6-methoxy-2-(3-ethylene-dioxybuten-1-yl)naphthalene obtained and then hydrolysing the latter with an acid.

Abstract: Propofol is purified by reaction of the raw 2,6-diisopropylphenol with an alkaline agent, by isolation of the alkaline metal salt and by neutralization thereof. There is thus obtained a propofol having a purity of at least 99.90%.

Abstract: A new use of N-(4'-pyridyl)-3,3-diphenylpropyl amine, known as fenpyramin, as platelet aggregation-inhibiting medicine and antithrombotic agent as well as vasodilating and antianginous medicine is described.

Abstract: New imidazopyridine derivatives are described, having the following formula: ##STR1## wherein R represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl radical of 1 to 3 carbon atoms, a methoxy group or a halogen atom,R.sub.1 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl radical of 1 to 3 carbon atoms,n represents an integer of 1 to 10,X represents a non-toxic pharmaceutically acceptable ion, which possess a skeletal muscle paralyzing activity.

Abstract: There is described a new class of ketohydroxyimino derivatives of cephalosporins of the formula ##STR1## wherein: R is an alkyl radical having from 2 to 4 carbon atoms, a phenyl, or a 5-membered heterocyclic radical which may be substituted, containing nitrogen, oxygen and/or sulphur;R.sup.1 is an acetoxy, carbamoyloxy or S-heterocyclic group, which may be substituted, and the heterocyclic ring is a 5- or 6-membered ring containing one or more nitrogen atoms, alone or combined with sulphur;R.sup.2 is hydrogen, alkyl or acetyl.The present compounds have an interesting broad-spectrum antibacterial activity.
