  • Patent number: 5829856
Abstract: The radiation beam emitted by a polychromatic source of finite dimension is initially corrected in its vergency and distribution by a reflector or a system which operates according to refraction, diffraction or total inner reflection effects. The beam then strikes on an array of micro-lenses of square or rectangular shape of arbitrary cross-section which have the function to converge and divide the beam into a plurality of partial beams which may have different directions, towards a matrix of colored micro-filters or images.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 27, 1997
Date of Patent: November 3, 1998
Assignee: C.R.F. Societa Consortile per Azioni
Inventors: Piero Perlo, Piermario Repetto, Sabino Sinesi
  • Patent number: 5817396
Abstract: An antireflection surface having a predetermined roughness so as to keep the reflectivity of incident radiation low. A profile with projections having a height which is an integer multiple of the radiation wavelength can trap the radiation irrespective from its polarization and also at large angles of incident light.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 25, 1996
Date of Patent: October 6, 1998
Assignee: C.R.F. Societa' Constorile per Azioni
Inventors: Piero Perlo, Sabino Sinesi, Luca Sardi
  • Patent number: 5818627
Abstract: The polychromatic or monochromatic radiation beam emitted by a light source strikes an array of micro-filters which partially or totally transmit the light beam towards an array of micro-mirrors. The partially reflected beam comes back towards the first array of micro-filters and passes again through it until it reaches a viewer or a recording system or a screen. A relative movement between the two arrays of micro-filters and micro-mirrors enables static or animated images or colour strips selectable according to the needs to be generated.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 24, 1997
Date of Patent: October 6, 1998
Assignee: C.R.F. Societa' Consortile per Azioni

  • Patent number: 5808383
Abstract: A linear electrostatic motor comprises a planar stator having a capacitive structure formed by a metal layer and a layer of dielectric material and a movable member having first and second groups of feet formed by a conductive thin film and arranged in rolling contact on the layer of dielectric material of the stator. In operation, the voltage pulses applied to the feet of one of the two groups have a shift, for example substantially of one half of a period, with respect to the voltage pulses applied to the other group of feet.
