    Abstract: A device for the correct positioning of the lower steering shaft on the steering-box pinion and on the upper steering shaft respectively comprises a bush with a reference tooth which, as well as ensuring the correct positioning of the clamping screw, also simultaneously ensures the secure clamping of the screw for the correct connection of the aforementioned members. The reference tooth on the bush may be replaced by a bracket welded to the fork of the universal joint of the lower steering shaft.
