  • Patent number: 7412512
Abstract: A method of guaranteeing that a communication network server can reach an element that is remote from the network using a path or link which is automatically updated when the remote element is moved within the network. The method employs indirect addressing (lookup table), and is used, in particular, in network performance measuring systems.

  • Publication number: 20050085791
Abstract: Devices, kits and methods for reducing the risk of infection at an injection or incision site are described herein. The device contains a bioadhesive, biocompatible and bioerodable material and one or more disinfectant agents. In the preferred embodiment, the material is formed of one ore more hydrogels Optionally, the device also contains one or more anesthetics to decrease discomfort. The device may be marked or calibrated to facilitate localized injection or incision at a pre-specified site on the skin or mucus membrane. After identifying or selecting the injection or incision site, the device is placed on the site for a time sufficient to achieve localized disinfection, and optionally localized anesthesia. Then the needle or surgical instrument is inserted through the composition into the site. Thereafter, the drug is administered, fluid is removed, in the case of an injection, or the surgical instrument is placed at the site, in the case of an incision.

  • Patent number: 6219668
Abstract: A computer operating method using a distribution program from which application programs may be retrieved and executed, includes setting up a database including at least one table of persons' names, a set table and a document table, and executing a database management distribution program for creating, updating, reproducing, moving and deleting at least the documents. A document is created from document data formed by combining at least one name from the name table with at least one data and at least one message while designating an application program, and forming, by an application program, a representation of the information content that may be accessed by an identifier related to an application program, whereafter, once the document data and the information content representation have been formed, the document data and the identifier are combined and recorded.

  • Patent number: 4098078
Abstract: In a process for the afterburning of the combustible pollutants from an internal combustion engine, in order to automatically reduce the secondary induction rate when power increases without using a controlling valve actuated by the carburettor venturi depression, there is provided a volumetric efficiency of the secondary air pump linked to and activated by the engine and a volumetric efficiency which decreases when the ratio between its back pressure and suction pressure increases, this reduction being achieved through the proper selection of the pump volumetric comression ratio r: between 0.6 c and 1.3 c when a steeply decreasing trend is required, and above 1.3 c if a slower and slower decreasing trend is required. To perform this process an afterburner apparatus has a nitrogen oxide reducing catalyst placed inside the afterburner reactor on the gas stream immediately at the outlet of a torus, in which the gases are homogenized and their reaction with preinjection air is terminated.

  • Patent number: 4079077
Abstract: The crate comprises an apertured bottom portion and inclined interconnected arms forming a succession of V-shaped structures connecting the outside of the bottom portion to a quadrangular upper girdle disposed outside the arms. The arms are in vertical planes and define at their interconnections horizontal top stops and bottom stops. Opposite sides of the crate have respectively upper reference members and lower reference members. The upper reference member overlaps the lower reference member of an adjacent crate when the adjacent crate has the same orientation as the first-mentioned crate and is correctly positioned relative to the latter to ensure that the pitch of the V-shaped structures is maintained across the joint between the crates.

  • Patent number: 4049946
Abstract: An arc welding power supply of the type which employs a saturable reactor circuit to control the supply power from an alternating current source to the welding electrode. A control circuit varies the current through the control winding of the saturable reactor to provide the desired welding current. An additional circuit monitors the welding current and disables the saturable reactor control circuit when the welding current drops below a low threshold value, thus reducing the open circuit voltage between the welding electrode and workpiece and minimizing the danger of electric shock to the welder while changing electrodes. The saturable reactor is connected in series with the primary winding of a transformer which also serves as the output winding of the saturable reactor.

  • Patent number: 3982397
Abstract: An apparatus for afterburning the combustible pollutants from the exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine in a reactor, in which secondary air is introduced. Upstream of the reactor, a chamber in the form of a torus is provided, through which the exhaust gases from a maximum number of cylinders flow before entering the reactor. A first obstacle, acting as a flame holder is disposed inside the torus. The reactor comprises a chamber whose inner surface is approximately a surface of revolution, and mounted inside of which is a second obstacle, acting as flame holder, substantially along the axis of revolution. The second flame holder has a diameter large enough to provide a contact time of 1 to 3 .times. 10.sup.-.sup.3 seconds of the gas flow in a recirculation zone surrounding the second flame holder, the diameter of the second flame holder being 15 to 40% of the reactor diameter.
