  • Patent number: 5015591
Abstract: The method of filtering and metering a liquid sample set forth herein includes the steps of providing a first recipient (1) in which the sample is placed, the volume of the sample being greater than the quantity to be metered, providing a second recipient (2) into which the sample is decanted in the same proportions, interposing filtering means (7) between the first and second recipients, decanting into the first recipient a quantity of the sample less than the excess quantity contained in the second recipient and providing a third recipient (3) into which is decanted from the second recipient the desired quantity of liquid samples. The method may be employed for example in processing the adenosine triphosphate (ATP) molecule.

  • Patent number: 4900512
Abstract: An apparatus for photometrically analyzing liquid samples comprises a capsule (1) in which a measuring cell (7) is housed. This cell is inserted in a flow circuit for liquid samples delivered from containers (R) travelling on a conveyor (17). Each sample is taken up by a pivoting arm (15) and with the aid of a pump (13). The volume of the measuring cell (7) is so calculated that the quantity of liquid sample contained in the containers (R) is sufficient firstly to rinse the cell with this liquid then for the measurement to be carried out. A particular application is the measurement of bioluminescence reactions produced in samples containing living organisms.

  • Patent number: 4869116
Abstract: First and second containers (R1; R2) are successively brought to a transvasation or decanting station (C) in which the samples are metered. For this purpose, a piston (17) is mounted so as to be able to penetrate each first container (R1), which can be lifted, when it enters the decanting station (C). The quantity of sample in the first container (R1) is greater than the quantity to be precisely metered which is poured into the second container (R2) by means of a pouring assembly (24 to 36) situated above it. A pouring member (40) may be placed between the second container and the pouring assembly.

  • Patent number: 4842536
Abstract: A connector has a plug and a socket. The plug is provided with at least one male contact member composed of two resilient foils in the shape of spoons. Each of these foils is mounted in a floating manner in the insulating block of the plug. The socket has a female contact member which is rigidly mounted in the insulating block. Thus, when the connector is plugged in, the contact element of the plug can align with the contact element of the socket by which it is then positioned. The connector can be executed with a distance between the contact sets of only 1.27 mm (0.05 inches). The connector is useful with surface mounting technology.
