  • Publication number: 20230202882
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a filter head comprising a housing having one inlet and at least one outlet for being connected to an on-site water pipe. A filter candle having a filter candle inlet and at least one filter candle outlet can be installed in the filter head, and the filter head has means for setting a desired degree of softening by setting a blend ratio. The filter head comprises a flow meter and at least one conductivity measuring device, in particular a conductivity measuring cell, and the filter head has an interface for data transmission to an external unit and an integrated computing unit.

  • Patent number: 11278880
Abstract: A water softening device includes a filter configured to remove hardness from a first stream of raw water to produce a second stream of softened water. The filter includes an ion exchange material which is loaded with a first cationic ion species deriving from a tracer salt and with a second cationic ion species deriving from a regenerant salt. The IEX material shows a lower affinity to the first cationic ion species than to the hardness. At the same time the IEX material shows a higher affinity to the first cationic ion species than to the second cationic species. An electrical property of the second stream is monitored by a sensor. A change in the monitored electrical property can be used as an indicator for the exhaustion state of the filter.

  • Patent number: 11130684
Abstract: A water softening device includes a filter configured to decrease hardness of a first stream of raw water to produce a second stream of water with decreased hardness, a first sensor that measures an electrical property of the first stream, a second sensor that measures an electrical property of the second stream, and optionally, a third sensor that detects a water flow through the filter, wherein the filter includes an ion exchange resin operated in H+-mode, and the filter is buffered with at least one salt selected from the group of a potassium salt (K+), a sodium salt (Na+) and a lithium salt (Li+).

  • Patent number: 10442708
Abstract: A process of treating water includes a membrane separation stage and a deionization stage separating raw water into a first concentrate stream and permeate stream, the first concentrate stream is separated at least in part into a second concentrate stream and permeate stream, the first permeate stream is fed into a diluate chamber from which it exits again as a product stream, the second permeate stream is fed into a downstream electrodeionization appliance from which it exits as a third concentrate stream, and the second and the third concentrate streams are degassed and added to the raw water stream before the stream is fed into the membrane separation stage.
