  • Patent number: 9212882
Abstract: A high-precision measuring device, a kit including the same, and a method of measuring objects using the same are disclosed. The measuring device can include a tape measure that has a retractable measuring tape adapted to extend longitudinally from the tape measure. The retractable measuring tape comprises a plurality of uniformly spaced primary markings. A secondary scale can be coupled to the tape measure, where the secondary scale includes a plurality of uniformly spaced secondary markings. The distance between adjacent secondary markings can be less than a distance between adjacent primary markings. • Patent number: 7282176
Abstract: A method to mount handling equipment on an interface of a confinement chamber that is to contain a sterile environment. In the method a unit including the handling equipment is prepared and sterilized, and the chamber and a hidden part of the interface are sterilized after coupling impervious tooling to a chamber flange and partially opening the chamber door. The unit is then coupled to the interface. Finally, the double door formed by the equipment door and the chamber door connected to one another is opened, using a handle provided for this purpose on the equipment door.

  • Patent number: 6357488
Abstract: In order to transfer aseptic products between two enclosures (34), use is made of a sterile container (10) having a filling interface (16) and an emptying interface (18). Each interface (16, 18) comprises a seal (24) behind which is placed a flexible hose (26) equipped with a closure system (30, 30′). The filling and emptying of the container (10) take place by connecting the corresponding interface (16, 18) and enclosure (34), sterilizing the volume trapped between the seal (24) and the door (42, 50) of the enclosure (34), opening said door and also the seal and putting into place the corresponding flexible hose (26). After filling the container (10), the closure system (30) of the filling interface (16) is closed again.

  • Patent number: 6308749
Abstract: Sterile products contained in a container (10) are transferred into a sterile isolator (12) by connecting the container onto a lock (28) fitted on the outside of the isolator (12) and equipped with a pulsed light sterilization device (28). The connection between the lock (28) and the isolator (12) is made by a sealed double door transfer device. The throwaway container is equipped with a plug type closer (16), cutout from the inside of the isolator (12) after sterilizing the volume (40) inside the lock (28) and opening the double door (24, 38).

  • Patent number: 5488828
Abstract: An apparatus and method for obtaining energy is disclosed. The method includes heating a fluid in a liquid state by heat exchange with a heat source to generate a vapor of the fluid at a first elevation. The vapor of the fluid is caused to rise to a second elevation within an enclosed space and is condensed at the second elevation by heat exchange with a cold source. The liquid obtained by condensing the vapor is caused to fall from the second elevation and the energy of the falling liquid is converted to another form of energy, which is preferably electricity. The apparatus of the invention includes structure for vaporizing a liquid to form a vapor, a vapor tower for increasing the potential energy of the vapor by causing the vapor to rise along an upwardly-extending path. Structure is also provided for condensing the vapor by heat exchange with a cold source and recovering the increase in potential energy from the vapor, preferably in the form of electric power.

  • Patent number: 5263521
Abstract: A waterproof fixture (14) is attached to the hopper (12) for transferring a powder product (P) which has been fabricated in a pharmaceutical reactor into a transport container (10). The container (10) is attached to the device (14) by a two door transfer system (26, 44). The device (14) permits the opening of the double doors, to empty the openings in front of the hopper and the container and to join the same automatically by means of telescoping delivery lines (66).

  • Patent number: 4417219
Abstract: A phase shift binary modulator which is less sensitive to the non-linear characteristics of the transmission channel. The modulator comprises a first input to which a succession of binary bits are applied, prior to their modulation and transmission. Another input receives a clock signal at the bit rate of the succession of bits applied to the first input terminal, which is, in turn, connected to an input of a first exclusive OR gate, the output of which is connected to an input of another exclusive OR gate. The output of the other OR gate is connected to the input of a flip-flop. An output of the flip-flop is connected to the second input of the first OR gate. The clock signal drives a divider, the inverse output of which is connected to the second input of the other OR gate. The direct output of the divider is connected to an input of an AND gate. The second input of the AND gate is connected to the output of a delay circuit. The binary modulator may have either four or eight phase-shift displacements.
