    Abstract: The invention concerns a method for biological purification of effluents in mixed cultures using micro-organisms whereof part at least is fixed on solid supports. The invention is characterized in that said supports are activated so as to generate a turbulence in the reaction medium, the intensity of which is such that it reduces the production of biological sludge, the materials constituting said micro-organism supports being abraded and cleaned, while being retained in said reaction medium.
