  • Publication number: 20130270737
Abstract: The invention relates in particular to a gaming chip comprising a weighting disc (3), the dimensions of which are smaller than those of the chip, the weighting disc (3) being embedded in the thickness of said chip. The chip is notable in that it comprises a continuous ring (5) which is formed from a transparent material, extends through the thickness of the chip and surrounds the weighting disc (3) as closely as possible.

  • Patent number: 8336881
Abstract: A method of producing a gaming chip comprising at least two plaques forming the opposite faces thereof, the method comprising a step of connecting said two plaques placed against one another by arranging therebetween a connection material. The method comprises (i) a step of arranging in a mold two blanks of said two plaques which are placed against one another with the faces thereof facing one another, the total thickness thereof being smaller than that of the finished chip, the mold having an impression with a shape complementary to that of the chip to be produced, (ii) a step of holding the periphery of the plaque blanks within the mold, and (iii) a step of injecting connection material under pressure between facing faces of the two plaque blanks at a pressure and temperature suitable for deforming the plaque blanks against the surface of the impression of the mold.

  • Patent number: 7931204
Abstract: A generally disc-shaped token of the type having a body produced by multiple injection of plastic material and method of fabricating the same, which includes a core produced by a first injection of plastic material and having a central portion defining the central portion of the body of the token and a peripheral portion with radial projections defining at least part of the edge of the body of the token. The core incorporates an insert including a contactless electronic microchip identification device buried in the central portion during the first injection and retained at its periphery by projections or fingers attached to the injection mold and defining openings in the core. The body of the token includes a covering layer produced by a second injection of plastic material around the peripheral portion of the core to produce in conjunction with the core the whole of the edge and the annular peripheral portion of the body of the token. A decorated label is fixed to each face of the token.

  • Patent number: 7918455
Abstract: The chip, in the general shape of a disk, of the type with a body obtained by multiple injection molding of plastics material, includes a core 14 obtained by a first plastics material injection molding operation having a central portion 24 defining the central portion of the body of said chip and a peripheral portion 31 defining, by means of radial projections 18, at least a portion of the edge of the body of the chip. The core 14 incorporates an insert 26 including a contactless electronic microchip identification device 27 that during the first injection molding operation is buried in the central portion 24 and retained at its periphery by projections or fingers attached to the injection-molding mold and defining apertures 36 in the core. The chip body includes a covering layer around the peripheral portion 31 of the core 14 obtained by a second plastics material injection molding operation to produce, with the core, the whole of the edge and the peripheral annular portion of the body of the chip.

  • Patent number: 7866563
Abstract: Token including a token body obtained by at least one injection of material around an insert including a contactless identification device attached to a rigid plate sandwiched between two layers of injected material, the rigid plate including at least one through-hole. The invention also concerns the method of manufacturing such a token, including placing the insert in a mold, injecting a plastic material around the insert to form at least a portion of the core of the token, and at least one injection of plastic material around the assembly formed by the insert and the portion of the core obtained after the first injection of plastic material.

  • Patent number: 6264109
Abstract: Token including a plastic cover having an external surface and a base engaging surface. A plastic base has an external surface and a cover engaging surface, the base being attached to the cover. An axial spacing projection maintains a space between the base and the cover, the axial spacing projection being disposed on the cover engaging surface of the base and including a first height. The axial spacing projection further includes one of a continuous ring and a discontinuous ring. A closure ring disposed on the base engaging surface of the cover comprises one of a continuous ring and a discontinuous ring. A peripheral annular region includes a space having a second height and is disposed adjacent an edge of the token, the peripheral annular region being defined by the axial spacing projection.
