  • Patent number: 9208796
Abstract: Methods, systems, and non-transitory computer readable media for estimating speech energy of an encoded bit stream based on coding parameters extracted from the partially-decoded bit stream are disclosed. In an embodiment, a disclosed method includes receiving a CELP-encoded bit stream, partially decoding the bit stream, and estimating the speech energy of the bit stream based a set of four or fewer CELP parameters extracted from the partially decoded bit stream. In another embodiment, a disclosed method includes receiving a CELP-encoded bit stream, partially decoding the bit stream, extracting at least one CELP parameter from the partially decoded bit stream, and estimating the speech energy of the bit stream based on the extracted at least one CELP parameter without calculating a linear prediction coding (LPC) filter response energy.

  • Patent number: 6949858
Abstract: An insulated core stud for use in the core structure of at least one of a stator and a rotor of a dynamoelectric machine is adapted to pass through holes contained in laminations of the core structure. The insulated core stud has a central portion and a first layer of heat shrinkable tubular insulation shrunk fit onto and covering at least the central portion of the core stud that passes through the laminations. One or more additional layers of heat shrinkable tubular insulation are shrunk fit onto at least a portion of the first layer of insulation that passes through the laminations. These second layers provide mechanically protection to the underlying layers of insulation against breaks occurring in the electrical insulation when the laminations and core studs are assembled into the core structure.

  • Publication number: 20010010166
Abstract: The present invention relates to electronic door locks, and more particularly to an override mechanism for unlatching an electronic door mortise lock from an electronically controlled locked side when it cannot be unlocked electronically. The override mechanism comprises an interior drive mechanism connected to a door handle input hub of the unlocked side, for driving the door handle input hub from a closed position to an open position, and a locking mechanism adapted to actuate the interior drive mechanism.
