Abstract: Compact and autonomous device of high power for the opening of a smoke and heat vent, placed between the fix and the opening frame of the vent and composed of a fix arm forming the fix frame and a pivoting arm, the opening force being transmitted to the opening frame by means of a hinge fixed on a fitting piece gliding in the pivoting arm, which is retained in a closed position by means of a pivoting hook, driven by different pulling means, among which a pivoting lever kept in a retaining position by an electro-magnet, all forces and tensions being entirely taken up within the autonomous device and working in vertical and parallel planes, which are very close to one another.

Abstract: The invention relates to a frame produced by a moulding of extrusion process for fixing a skylight on a roof; said frame is made of a mechanically strong and machinable material and has a basic profile which has at its upper portion at least one horizontal groove, for the rim of a skylight sheet, which is adjoined towards the interior of the frame by a collecting zone for water caused by condensation; orifices are provided for discharging water from the collecting zone to the exterior; the general configuration of the frame and the material used permit division of the frame by cutting at a desired level.

Abstract: A roof vent for releasing smoke and heat from a building in the case of a fire is provided with a cover mounted on two track members for movement in the common direction of elongation of the track members which define therebetween an opening through the roof. The cover is permanently biased away from the position in which it closes the roof opening, but is normally retained in its closing position by a detent device which may be inactivated by temperature sensitive apparatus in the case of a fire. The operating elements of the vent are concealed from view and protected from the elements by being arranged under the cover member.
