  • Patent number: 6690164
Abstract: A fluxgate micro-magnetometer with perpendicular detection and a process of realization thereof. A ferromagnetic core is perpendicular to a substrate. The axes of excitation coils and pick-up coils are also perpendicular to the substrate. A magnetic field component which is perpendicular to the substrate is thus measured. The two other components can be measured by magnetometers of classical type whose core is parallel to the substrate. Such a device may find application in the domain of magnetic measurement, as an example.

  • Patent number: 6335846
Abstract: Magnetic head for use in magnetic recording and including an integrated coil having at least one winding around a non-embedded part of the magnetic circuit. The winding includes a lower sheet of conductors placed in a chamber etched in the substrate and which is integrated into this substrate. The magnetic head is manufactured in a process including forming on a solid substrate a magnetic circuit with a first and second polar part having embedded portions positioned side by side and separated by a nonmagnetic air gap. The magnetic circuit includes at least one non-embedded bridging part no portion of which is embedded in the substrate. A conductor coil is formed around the non-embedded part of the circuit by making a lower sheet of conductors passing underneath the non-embedded bridging part and by embedding the lower sheet in at least one chamber made in the substrate, and by making an upper sheet of conductors astride the non-embedded bridging part of the magnetic circuit.

  • Patent number: 6256864
Abstract: Process for the production of an assembly having several magnetic heads and multiple head assembly obtained by said process. Production takes place of a first substrate (60) with first pole pieces (621, 622) and a second substrate (70) with second pole pieces (721, 733) and magnetic connectors (741, 742). One of the substrates is reversed and engaged on the other. The second substrate is thinned out so that the two pole pieces (721, 722) and the magnetic connectors (741, 742) are level or almost level. The assembly is completed by forming on the second thinned out substrate, magnetic circuit closing means and conductor coils. Application to the production of multiple magnetic head assemblies.

  • Patent number: 5842269
Abstract: A process for producing a double magnetic head with two head gaps with opposite azimuths by forming a first magnetic head with a first head gap having a predetermined inclination angle on a first substrate and a second magnetic head having a second head gap with a second inclination angle on a second substrate and etching a first recess along the first head. The second head is received in the first recess and a second recess is etched along the second head to receive the first head. Subsequently, one of the heads is reversed and the first head is fitted into the second recess and the second head into the first recess so that the first and second inclination angles are opposed in a common reference frame thereby providing opposite azimuth angles.
