Publication number: 20240093484Abstract: A cam lock for side-by-side tongue-and-groove interlocking panels can be arranged to work easily and effectively by using a keyed cam lock that provides proper orientation and a stop when the lock is engaged. A cam lock for side-by-side tongue-and-groove interlocking panels can be arranged to be inserted on the tongue side and act against a mid-portion of the opposed panel. An insert bracket can cover with one end at least a part of an end of a panel at a corner connection between panels and with the other end it can fit into a slot in the panel to immobilize the panel in two directions, while a fastener-receiving portion of the bracket can have a V-shaped portion whose side walls can guide the fastener to pass through the bracket at a bottom of the V-shaped portion. This concept applies for wall to wall connection, wall to ceiling connection and wall to floor connection.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 15, 2023Publication date: March 21, 2024Inventor: Jean-Pierre Gingras

Patent number: 8161706Abstract: The present document describes a clip for securing a tight connection between two modular panels. The connection has a male portion on a first one of the two modular panels, and a female portion on a second one of the two modular panels. The male portion is for being inserted into the female portion upon assembly of the two modular panels side by side. The clip comprises a first flat member having a first pressure edge, and a second flat member having a second pressure edge. The second flat member is fixedly joined to the first flat member. The panels are assembled in an assembly direction. Upon introduction of the first flat member into the male portion, and of the second flat member into the female portion perpendicularly to the assembly direction, the first pressure edge of the first flat member forces the male portion toward the female portion, while the second pressure edge of the second flat member forces the female portion toward the male portion.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2008Date of Patent: April 24, 2012Inventor: Jean-Pierre Gingras

Patent number: 6434020Abstract: A method and apparatus for operating two switches connecting respectively a load to power source terminals in response to a switch control signal. The invention detects a signal indicative of current direction through the load to identify one of the switches as an active switch. If the switch control signal is for opening the active switch, an opening gate signal is sent to the active switch and a predetermined time period is triggered. If the switch control signal is for closing the active switch, an opening gate signal is sent to the other switch, a predetermined time period is triggered, and a closing gate signal is sent to the active switch when the predetermined time period of the timer associated with the other switch has elapsed.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 2001Date of Patent: August 13, 2002Assignee: Hydro-QuebecInventors: Ghislain Lambert, Pierre Gingras
