  • Publication number: 20180366234
Abstract: A fuel rod cladding (4) for a light water reactor includes a core (16) including a matrix consisting of pure molybdenum or of a molybdenum-based alloy; and an outer protective layer (18). The outer protective layer (18) is selected among a chromium-based coating (20) deposited on an outer surface of the core (16) that includes at least one chromium-based coating layer (24) consisting of pure chromium or of a chromium-based alloy; a chromium-based diffusion layer (22) obtained by diffusion of chromium into the core (16) from the outer surface of the core (16); or a succession of a chromium-based diffusion layer (22) obtained by diffusion of chromium into the core (16) from the outer surface of the core (16) and a chromium-based coating (20) consisting of chromium or of a chromium-based alloy deposited on the outer surface of said core (16).

  • Publication number: 20100197484
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preparing mineral particles (p) from mineral species precursors, said process comprising a step (E) in which a fluid medium (F) containing said precursors in solution and/or dispersed in a solvent is injected into a reactor containing CO2 in the supercritical state by way of an injection nozzle opening into a zone where the supercritical CO2 is at a temperature greater than or equal to the temperature for conversion of the precursors into corresponding mineral species. The invention also relates to the particles (p) as obtained by the process, as well as uses thereof.

  • Patent number: 5848363
Abstract: In order to treat an aqueous acid effluent resulting from the decontamination of a component of a nuclear power station, the effluent containing an organic load comprising an organic reducing agent and nitrate ions and at least one oxidizing compound is introduced into the effluent. The effluent is then subjected to ultraviolet radiation and the totality of the organic load is thus converted into water and carbon dioxide, as well as possibly into at least one oxide of a chemical element present in the organic load, while neutralizing the effluent.

  • Patent number: 5516401
Abstract: An electrolyte is circulated between the surface to be machined, raised to an anode potential, and a tool electrode (9') raised to a cathode potential. The electrolyte contains lithium nitrate as a unique active product with a concentration of between 20 g/l and 2350 g/l and preferably between 50 g/l and 250 g/l. The process can be applied to the machining of the surface of any metallic component and in particular to the machining of the internal surface of tubular components (5) such as penetrations in the vessel bottom or closure head of a nuclear reactor; in this case the electrochemical machining cell consists of a cylindrical tool electrode (9') placed inside the component to be machined.
