Abstract: The present communications device comprises a receiver for short messages from a sender who or which is likely to send an important message, in particular to alert users to an imminent danger. The arrangement comprises means (M1, M2) for establishing a connection of the short message type, means (12, 13) for making such important messages perceivable, means for indicating the reception of the messages to the user, and means for supplying the sender with an acknowledgement (M4) of the receipt of said message of importance when the terminal is capable of processing the urgency of the message. Other actions are also proposed when the terminal is not capable of processing the urgency of the message. Applicable to the sending out of alerting messages in the event of imminent danger.

The method involves the use of a call control entity for communicating the appropriate information between the terminal and the base station with a view to a subscription, without the use of the management mobility procedure provided for by the DECT standard.

Abstract: The invention relates to a telecommunications network comprising at least a radio base station and a mobile terminal suitable for sending a secret authentication code to the radio station for making itself known to said network. The invention notably provides a registration procedure for the various terminals with base radio stations to enable the network to facilitate subscriber management. For this purpose, a period of time is allocated to the secret authentication code, so that the registration of a terminal results in the fact that said secret code is supplied at a date lying in said period of time.

Abstract: A telecommunications system includes a base station and a mobile terminal having an internal identifier. Location messages are exchanged between the base station and mobile terminal to provide location of the mobile terminal to the base station. The location messages include a locate request message transmitted from the mobile terminal to the base station and a locate accept message transmitted from the base station to the mobile terminal. The internal identifier is transported by the locate request message and the locate accept message.
