  • Publication number: 20240125680
Abstract: A system for diluting a sample of biological material, including a fluid circuit, wherein the fluid circuit includes at least: a first container configured to contain a sample of biological material containing a biological material to be diluted, the sample being a fluid; a second container configured to contain a first dilution fluid; and at least one first metering member for metering a predetermined volume of fluid, including a first wall and a second wall, the first metering member including a metering zone configured to change at least from an initial state in which the first wall and the second wall are in contact with one another to an operating state in which the first wall and the second wall are separated from one another.

  • Patent number: 6994314
Abstract: This invention concerns a valve (2), with at least one channel (3) running through it, allowing a fluid (F3) to be directed by transfer means within a device (1), the device (1) featuring at least one face (4), possibly flat, the valve (2) consisting of a film (7 or 16), flexible and/or which can be deformed, fixed on all or part of the face (4) of said device (1), and a film actuator (7), which enables said valve (2) to be activated or deactivated, this actuator consisting of an electrical power source. It also consists of a test sample card (1) equipped with at least one valve (2), and a process for actuating the valve (2), as described above. The invention is particularly applicable in the field of diagnosis.

  • Patent number: 6929239
Abstract: The invention concerns a device for performing a reaction or at least two reactions in parallel or in series, and for transferring a fluid flow, consisting of. an upper surface (2) and a lower surface (3) mutually linked by an edge (4); at least a duct (5) wherein a fluid flow (F1) can be generated by means transferring at least one sample (6) to be treated and/or analysed, and at least a valve (8) incorporated in each duct (4) for directing each sample (6) thereby controlling the transfers, reactions and analyses in the device. Each valve (8) consists of two means (9 and 10) integral with the device, the first means (9) being mobile between an inoperative position wherein the fluid transfer (6) is possible and an active position wherein said transfer cannot take place, and the second means (10) being mobile between a position wherein it is not in contact with said first means (9) and an active position wherein it deforms the first means (9) and it is activated by an actuator external to the device.

  • Publication number: 20050019900
Abstract: A method of controlling the presence or absence of a volume of liquid in a container or of controlling the filling of a container with a liquid volume. A channel passes through the container and channel opens into a shaft which collects all or part of the liquid. The channel(s) and shaft(s) form a fluidic network. Implementation of the method includes: detecting the capacity, or another related parameter, such as the relative permittivity of the air present in the container, the oscillation frequency or the voltage, at each shaft before the liquid is injected; detecting the capacity, or another related parameter, at each shaft after the liquid has been injected; determining the capacitive variation, or a variation in a related parameter, at each shaft; and deducing the quantity of liquid present at each reaction shaft. The invention is particularly suitable for use in the field of diagnosis.

  • Patent number: 5902746
Abstract: An assembly for treating a sample in a liquid medium, in particular a biological material, includes an essentially static permanently active module, closed off by a chamber from the outside. The assembly includes a disposable outer container holding the sample to be treated, for example an inoculum of a cell culture. The disposable outer container can be connected to the main outlet of a treatment circuit. Another disposable outer container is provided for analyzing the nucleic fraction obtained in the treatment circuit. This container can be connected to the main outlet of the treatment circuit and comprises various reagents and means for analyzing the nucleic fraction. Constituents of the assembly can act as a heat source when connected to an electrical current.
