  • Patent number: 6600963
Abstract: A modular architecture for electronic equipment. Data-concentration modules, processing modules and display devices are interconnected by data-transmitters with sensors, measuring instruments and detectors. The data-concentration modules concentrate only the data which is not critical for the industrial process. This data is transmitted to other modules by a multi-receiver serial bus. The other modules directly receive the critical data which is routed by separate, respective serial digital links between, on the one hand, display devices and functions controlling the processes which are distributed in the process modules, and, on the other hand, sensors, measuring instruments and actuators.

  • Patent number: 6426211
Abstract: A purified xylanase derived from B. Pumilus PRL B12 is disclosed. This xylanase is efficient for use in the biobleaching of wood pulp, permitting a strong reduction in the quantity of chlorine used and AOX compounds produced in classical and ECF wood pulp bleaching sequences as well as the quantity of ozone used in TCF sequences. The gene coding for the xylanase was isolated and purified and used to construct an expression vector therefor. A recombinant host strain of B. licheniformis is also disclosed which is efficient for expressing heterologous enzymes, including the xylanase when transformed by the expression vector.

  • Patent number: 5488824
Abstract: The throttle control device controlling two engines of a same aerodyne which embodies the invention uses a drive mechanism mounted rotatably about a fixed axis and rotated by means of a servomotor controlled by a computer ensuring automatic flight velocity control for the aircraft, two levers respectively integral with two annular elements mounted rotatably about said axis, on both sides of the drive mechanism, two electromagnetic couplers respectively disposed between said annular elements and said drive mechanism, and two angular position sensors respectively associated with the two annular elements, these two sensors being respectively connected to the throttle control circuits of the engines of the aircraft. This system ensures the independence of the two levers and the level of safety required for automatic control of the aircraft.
