  • Patent number: 4990875
Abstract: An electromechanical switching apparatus is provided, particularly a protection apparatus, whose contacts are controllable by means of a local of remote controlled electromagnet. The electromagnet is of the monostable type and an engagement mechanism is associated with a mobile assembly connected to the mobile armature. A two position switch accessible from outside the case enables and, respectively, disables the operation of the engagement mechanism. An auxiliary closure piece is provided for manual closure of the contacts.

  • Patent number: 4855698
Abstract: A protective switching apparatus with remote controlled opening and closing is provided including a tripping mechanism connected to an assembly comprising at least two fixed contacts and two mobile contacts and to a magnetic and/or thermal trip; a resetting member and an electromagnet having a movable element and to a member for driving a least one pseudo-fixed or mobile contact. The mobile contacts are carried by a bridge having a plane of symmetry X--X and the tripping mechanism extends in the vicinity of the plane of symmetry X--X. The electromagnet and the trip are housed in the case on each side of the tripping mechanism in a direction perpendicular to the plane of symmetry.

  • Patent number: 4701067
Abstract: A device is provided for snap fitting an electric apparatus on a support bar comprising, in a case, a housing containing a blade spring and opening into a groove in which one of the edges of the support bar may be engaged against the action of the blade spring. This latter is disposed inside the housing so as to exert a transverse force on said edge and has, at its end situated towards the edge, at least one fastening step of a hardness greater than that of the bar.

  • Patent number: 4689714
Abstract: An electric control device adaptable to a two state switching device is provided comprising two electromagnets disposed head to tail and each having a coil inside which a coil is slidably mounted, and two rocking levers which each comprise a first arm having a toothed sector and a second arm coupled to a respective core. The two toothed sectors mesh with a toothed pinion mounted for rotation in the case. This toothed pinion may be coupled to the operating shaft of a switching device.

  • Patent number: 4647741
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a switching device which comprises a casing provided with an input terminal, an output terminal and, therebetween, an electric circuit including at least two separable contacts as well as a rotary screen presenting an interposable annular sector between the contacts and displaceable vis-a-vis a wall comprising an opening for the passage of at least one of the contacts. The wall delimits in the casing two volumes as well as a lamellar space enabling to provide for the rolling and cooling of the arc. The space communicates with a chamber which enables the gas expulsion with expansion to the chamber. The invention enables to obtain a simple and inexpensive way of reliably breaking the arc.

  • Patent number: 4635013
Abstract: An additive block is provided which may be coupled to a circuit breaker comprising two separable contacts and a resettable tripping mechanism controlled by a thermal trip and/or a magnetic trip. It comprises an auxiliary tripping and/or signalling member, a connecting mechanism between the tripping mechanism of the circuit breaker and the auxiliary member and a manual resetting member cooperating with the connecting mechanism for resetting the active part of the mechanism associated with said auxiliary member in its original position after tripping of the circuit breaker. The connecting mechanism has an interlocking piece which may assume two positions corresponding to engagement and disengagement of the circuit breaker and cooperating in its first position with the resetting member for preventing manual actuation thereof.

  • Patent number: 4605918
Abstract: A high speed current maximum tripping device, comprising a fixed core and a mobile core with complementary shapes and disposed in the same plane while defining an air gap therebetween. The fixed and mobile cores are obtained by flat stamping and have complementary profiles of a generally curvilinear shape with sides whose slope with respect to the main axis of the projecting core increases progressively from the nose towards the body.
