Abstract: A helmet is disclosed. The helmet comprises an outer shell defining a cavity to receive a head when worn. The outer shell includes a domed inner surface facing towards the cavity and an opposite outer surface. A liner is disposed in the cavity, the liner having a head facing surface and an outer surface opposite the head facing surface, the outer surface facing towards the domed inner surface of the outer shell. The liner comprises a three-dimensional lattice formed of a plurality of cells and at least one liner skin integrally formed with the three-dimensional lattice, the liner skin forming part of the head facing surface of the liner, the liner skin covering less than an entirety of the three-dimensional lattice so as to define a skinless surface area on the head facing surface of the liner.

Abstract: A visor has: a visor body defining a visor aperture through the visor body on a side of the visor body; and an attachment device on the side of the visor body to secure the visor to a corresponding one of the flaps of the outer shell of the sport helmet, the attachment device having: a fastener extending through the visor aperture, the fastener having a head facing an outer side of the visor body, the fastener defining first threads threadingly engaged to second threads defined by one or both of the corresponding one of the flaps and a nut secured to the outer shell, and a spacer facing an inner side of the visor body, the spacer defining a spacer aperture in register with the visor aperture, the fastener extending in the spacer aperture at least partially through the spacer.

Abstract: A protective helmet including an outer shell, and a liner assembly received in the outer shell and connected to the outer shell, the liner assembly defining a front portion configured to overlay a front of a head of a wearer, a rear portion configured to overlay a rear of the head of the wearer, a top portion disposed above and out of contact with a top of the head of the wearer when the helmet is worn, and two opposed side portions each configured to overlay a respective side of the head of the wearer. Abstract: A sport helmet has an outer shell including a first shell and a second shell movable relative to the first shell; levers hingedly connected to the first shell on left and right sides of the sport helmet for adjustably securing the first and second shells together; and finger-engageable locking actuators for selectively allowing movement of the levers from the engaged position to the disengaged position, the finger-engageable locking actuators being engaged to anchoring projections receivable within anchoring apertures, the finger-engageable locking actuators movable between a locked position and an unlocked position, wherein in the locked position movements of the levers relative to the first shell are limited via the anchoring projections, and wherein in the unlocked position the anchoring projections are disengaged from the anchoring apertures such that the levers are pivotable between the engaged position and the disengaged position.

Abstract: A protective sport helmet includes an outer shell, and an inner padding mounted within the outer shell for at least partially covering the wearer's head, the inner padding defining a base face oriented toward the wearer's head and at least one pedestal extending from the base face away from the outer shell, the pedestal defining a pedestal face facing the wearer's head. At least one tangential shock absorber has a first face at least partially covering the pedestal face and a second face opposed the first face and configured for contacting the wearer's head. The tangential shock absorber includes a shearable member that is deformable such that the first face is movable relative to the second face in a direction having a radial component relative to an axis normal to the pedestal face.

Abstract: A protective helmet with first and second helmet sections each including an outer shell section and an inner layer section of protective material. The first and second helmet sections are displaceable relative to one another to adjust a size of the helmet. Two opposed side protective members are received inwardly of the outer shell sections on opposed sides of the helmet. Means for adjusting a position of the side protective members relative to the inner layer sections of protective material are provided. The means are configured such that, when the protective helmet is adjusted when on the head of the wearer, the protective members remain substantially stationary with respect to the head of the wearer when the inner layer sections are displaced with the first and second helmet sections.

Abstract: A sports helmet has: a shell; a face protector; and a face mask disposed on an inner side of the face protector, the face mask having a body overlapping a nose and a mouth and defining a volume between the face and the body, the body defining a top edge for engaging the face and a bottom edge opposed to the top edge and disposed proximate a chin, the bottom edge secured to a lower portion of the face protector at a location spaced apart from the face to define a gap therebetween, and lateral straps secured to one or both of the face protector and the shell for biasing the top edge against the face of the wearer, the body made of a material offering a flow resistance such that an exhalation flow from the wearer is deviated towards the gap and away from the face protector.

The sweat-collecting strap is displaceable with respect to the helmet body to bias the gutter against a forehead of the wearer above the eyes.

Abstract: A face shield for a hockey helmet, comprising a transparent visor portion, a bottom portion, right and left side portions, and a top portion extending upwardly and rearwardly from the top edge of the visor portion. The top portion comprises a top central transversal bar, right and left bars extending upwardly and rearwardly on the right and left sides from the top edge of the visor portion and a central projection between the right and left bars projecting upwardly and rearwardly from the top edge of the visor portion. The central bar and central projection define a transversal gap therebetween and the central bar, right and left bars and central projection define right and left hollow spaces therebetween. The transversal gap and right and left hollow spaces together define a central aeration aperture being sized to prevent a hockey stick blade or puck from impacting the wearer's face.
