  • Publication number: 20230233749
Abstract: A chest drainage system securing apparatus for securing and maintaining chest drainage systems in position following placement into a human or animal patient and preventing movement or unplanned removal thereof in response to the application of significant forces in any direction thereto, be they longitudinal, torsional/rotational or bending. The securement system includes retention devices secured to a chest tube which interact with an adhesive pad releasably attached to a patient to ensure proper positioning of the chest tube. The adhesive pad includes one or more Heimlich-type valves for sealing sucking chest wounds and for sealing an incision formed in a patients skin and chest for the placement and insertion of a chest tube.

  • Publication number: 20230134772
Abstract: A HVAC control system comprising a user interface adapted to receive comfort feedback from a user. A processor is adapted to receive the comfort feedback and input data corresponding to one or more comfort factors and respective values of the comfort factors. The processor is adapted to build a comfort model for the user based on the comfort feedback and the input data, with the comfort model correlating a comfort score to one or more values of one or more of the comfort factors. The processor is configured to adjust one or more functions of an HVAC unit to vary one or more comfort factors such that a predetermined comfort score is achieved. An associated method and an associated system are also provided.

  • Patent number: 11244093
Abstract: A method simulates behavior of a structure by finite element calculation in which a global model represents the structure, a local model represents an area of the structure including geometric details, and an auxiliary model represents the area without the geometric details. The method includes determining by finite element calculation in the global model of a nodal displacement field corresponding to a loading applied to the global model; applying the nodal displacement field to the local and auxiliary models and determining the corresponding forces; calculating a correction when convergence of the solution obtained for the global model is not achieved, and the applying is resumed with a nodal displacement field calculated in the global model after implementing the correction; determining values of internal variables for the different loading increments; and assessing the evolution in the behavior of the structure over time as a function of these values.

  • Patent number: 10919348
Abstract: A tire includes an RFID locator. The tire includes a pair of bead areas and a ground-contacting tread disposed radially outwardly of the pair of bead areas. Each sidewall of a pair of sidewalls extends from a respective bead area to the tread. A carcass extends toroidally between each of the bead areas radially inwardly of the tread and an innerliner is formed on an inside surface of the carcass. An RFID tag is attached to the tire at an area of a selected one of the sidewalls through interior sidewall attachment. A locator indicia is integrated into an axial outer surface of the selected sidewall at a locator area.

  • Patent number: 10459949
Abstract: A system and method for building, maintaining and verifying an ontology are disclosed. The ontology may be build based on a meronymy and a taxonomy. In one example, the generated ontology may be an automotive mechanical systems ontology and the meronymy is a vehicle systems meronymy and the taxonomy is a universal parts taxonomy. The system may utilize consistent lexical derivation of the elements in the generated taxonomy.

  • Publication number: 20190135011
Abstract: A rubber article, such as a tire, bearing a digital code pattern is provided. The rubber article includes a quiet zone that surrounds the digital code pattern. The quiet zone is free of surface features in order to provide enhanced acquisition of the digital code pattern. A marking symbol is formed on the rubber article adjacent the quiet zone to provide identification of the quiet zone. A frame is optionally formed on the rubber article adjacent the quiet zone and the marking symbol to delineate the quiet zone.

  • Publication number: 20120257713
Abstract: A computed tomography (CT) scanning system performs non-destructive analysis of an object. The CT scanning system generates a series of two-dimensional images of the object from different angles as the object rotates. The CT scanning system uses the generated two-dimensional images to reconstruct three-dimensional images of the object. By displaying several reconstructed three-dimensional images over time, the CT scanning system generates a four-dimensional representation of the object.
