  • Publication number: 20220398851
Abstract: A process for sensing a scene. The process includes receiving sensor data from a plurality of sensor modalities, where each sensor modality observes at least a portion of the scene containing at least one of the objects of interest and generates sensor data conveying information on the scene and of the object of interest. The process further includes processing the sensor data from each sensor modality to detect objects of interest and produce a plurality of primary detection results, each detection result being associated with a respective sensor modality. The process also includes fusing sensor data from a first sensor modality with sensor data from a second sensor modality to generate a fused 3D map of the scene, processing the fused 3D map to detect objects of interest and produce secondary detection results and performing object level fusion on the primary and the secondary detection results.

  • Patent number: 11514157
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for a device having multiple users. The method identifies a process installed on the device that requires an isolated storage in a file system of the device. For each of a set of the users of the electronic device, the method assigns at least one container for use by the process within a user-specific section of the file system. The containers assigned to the process in a section of the file system specific to a particular user are only accessible by the process when the particular user is logged into the device. The method assigns at least one container for use by the process within a non-user-specific section of the file system. The containers assigned to the process within the non-user-specific section of the file system are accessible by the process irrespective of which user is logged into the device.

  • Patent number: 11437064
Abstract: A heat-assisted magnetic recording (HAMR) disk has a magnetic recording layer (typically a FePt chemically-ordered alloy), a seed-thermal barrier layer (typically MgO) below the recording layer, a heat-sink layer, and an optical-coupling multilayer of alternating plasmonic and non-plasmonic materials between the heat-sink layer and the seed-thermal barrier layer. Unlike a heat sink layer, the multilayer has very low in-plane and out-of-plane thermal conductivity and thus does not function as a heat sink layer. The multilayer's low thermal conductivity allows the multilayer to also function as a thermal barrier. Due to the plasmonic materials in the multilayer it provides excellent optical coupling with the near-field transducer (NFT) of the HAMR disk drive.

  • Patent number: 11423939
Abstract: A data storage device is disclosed comprising a head actuated over a magnetic media, wherein the head comprises a write coil and a write pole. A test pattern is written to the magnetic media by applying a first current to the write coil. A second current is applied to the write coil while the head passes over the test pattern, wherein the second current has a polarity opposite the first current. After applying the second current to the write coil while the head passes over the test pattern, the test pattern is read from the magnetic media using the head to generate a first read signal, and a first noise power of the first read signal is measured. A degradation of the write pole is detected based on the first noise power measurement.
