  • Patent number: 5787755
Abstract: This motorized reduction gear includes a toothed wheel (1) for driving an output member mounted on its hub (4), and one or more damping springs (6) interposed between the wheel (1) and the output member; the damping spring(s) (6) is(are) flat and metal and formed of two flexible branches (7) which are symmetrical with one another with respect to a median plane; each branch includes a convolution, a first section (8) of which extends around the hub (4), is extended by a fold (11), and a second section (9) terminated by a radial segment (12), a flat (13) for bearing on a rib (17) of the wheel (1), and a claw (14) for holding the spring in the wheel (1), around the hub (4). When the window pane comes to rest in abutment at the end of its path, one of the branches (7) is compressed and moves closer to the other, damping out the halting in the rotation of the toothed wheel (1). This(these) spring(s) has(have) a small overall size and high operational stability.

  • Patent number: 5586646
Abstract: Actuator for an electrically operated vehicle door lock has an actuator plunger which is shiftable between first and second positions to lock and unlock the related door latch. The actuator plunger carries a resilient electrical contact element which coacts with one or more fixed contacts on a guide to close one or more respective circuits for operating other parts of the related system and/or signalling the condition of the related lock, such as whether it is locked or unlocked. Preferably the contacts slide into and out of engagement to provide silent operation and self-cleaning wiping action.

  • Patent number: 5495080
Abstract: This electrical switch (1) consists of a flat spring, profiled in order to provide both a contact function and a spring function; the flat spring (1) includes a first leg (2) which can be deformed by bearing on a fixed pivot pin (3) of a support (4), and a second leg (5), which can move at the same time as the first leg deforms and whose end (5a) can assume either of two positions for contacting pins (14,15) of an electrical circuit. The switch according to the invention is less bulky than the usual switches by virtue of its flat shape, less expensive to manufacture, because it only consists of a single component, and easy to install on its support.

  • Patent number: 5486724
Abstract: A two buss system to accomplish; 1) communication from contact pairs located at vehicle access points such as a vehicle door or trunk to a central controller; and 2) transmitting current for energization of actuators to implement respective commands such as normal lock or super lock. The contact pairs function to provide entry ports for commands as well as providing status signals of various points of interest. The contact pairs are connected to individual output ports of a counter. Each contact pair is sequentially pulsed by a single pulse of a pulse train provided by the central controller. If a contact pair is engaged or closed when pulsed, the pulse will cause a coincident buss loading to occur. The central controller monitors buss loading and is appraised of the contact status by the coincidence (or lack thereof) of a pulse and a respectively loaded buss.

  • Patent number: 5360351
Abstract: An actuator which is physically secured to the locking mechanism by means of a first electrical connector. The motor of the actuator is provided with power through a second electrical connector which supplies power thereto through the first connector. The second connector also provides connection to a status contactor which provides locked and unlocked status indication. In this manner, the second connector accomplishes a dual function. Consequently, fasteners as required to secure the actuator to the lock mechanism are eliminated. A modular assembly is thus produced in which the interface housing carries a single connector which can be easily connected to the cable harness of the vehicle. Therefore only one electrical connection is required when mounting the lock in the door of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4940926
Abstract: The generator comprises means (2) for adjusting and an associated calculator, the adjusting means (2) comprising an endless rotative knob (4) capable of rotating through a given angle of which the position of the element to be controlled is a direct function, and pulse generating means (15, 17) generating a number of pulses which is proportional to the angle of rotation of the knob (4) and means for counting said number, and a selector of the direction of rotation. The calculator is programmed to determine, from the number of pulses counted, a proportion of the path the movable element must travel through realtive to end-of-travel means. The instruction determined by the calculator is then transmitted to a motor driving the movable element and to a position copying device. The invention permits obtaining a fine continuous, or substantially continuous, adjustment by a simple rotation of the knob. Application in particular to the control of opening elements of automobile vehicles.

  • Patent number: 4918998
Abstract: A motor-speed reducer includes a driving input shaft, an output shaft and a deformable coupling coupling the input shaft to the output shaft. The coupling includes a worm and a speed reducer driven by the worm. A sensor is also provided for detecting torque between the input shaft and the output shaft during operation of the device which causes deformation of the coupling. The sensor includes two electrically conductive tracks. One track is associated with an input side of the coupling and the other track is associated with an output side of the coupling. An electrical circuit is connected to the tracks and monitors movement of each track to detect a change in torque as a function of a change in the movement of one of the electrically conductive tracks relative to the other track.

  • Patent number: 4872903
Abstract: The jack (V) comprises a tubular primary screw (10) movable in rotation and translation and provided with an outer screw thread (10a) and an inner screw thread (10b) which have opposite thread hands, a fixed secondary screw (11) engaged in the inner screw thread (10b), a nut (9) connected to the movable element and engaged with the outer screw thread (10a) of the primary screw (10). The nut (9) is composite and comprises a first nut (9a) composed of a plastics material having a good coefficient of friction and a second nut (9b) composed of a mechanically strong material. Axial forces of normal amplitude are absorbed by the plastics nut (9a), while the exceptional overloads, resulting for example from an impact on the front of a vehicle whose seat structure is provided with the jack of the invention, are absorbed by the second nut (9b). In normal operation, the friction between the plastics nut (9a) and the screw (10) are considerably reduced, which provides a jack having an excellent efficiency.

  • Patent number: 4802350
Abstract: The latch comprises a keeper (2), a fork member (3) provided with two branches (7, 8) for retaining the keeper (2), a catch (9) movable to a position for locking the fork member (3) on the keeper (2), and a control lever (12) for the catch (9) for unlocking the fork member (3). The lever (12) is connected to an outer or inner opening control (13, 14) and is associated with an electric deactivating circuit comprising switches (25, 26) and an electromechanism so arranged that an attempt to open in an unauthorized manner after the deactivation of the door causes the closure of one of the switches (25, 26) and the supply of current to the electromechanism which automatically releases the lever (12) from the catch (9) and prevents the unlocking of the latch by the catch. In the event of a breakdown of the supply battery, the lever (12) remains coupled to the catch (9) and permits the opening of the door. FIG. 1.
