Patent number: 10864017Abstract: An orthopaedic attachment device (1) which can adopt at least two positions, an inoperative position and a locked position. The orthopaedic attachment device comprises two clamps (2a, 2b) mounted opposite each other through a resilient member, and held by a clamping rod along a median axis by through-holes. Each of the clamps (2a, 2b) comprises a body part that comprises a outer jaw (4b) and an inner jaw (4a), connected by a joining wall (5), and which defines an opening that is designed to accommodate a stiffening bar or a pin via an insert. The opening extends inwards from the clamp (2a, 2b) as far as the joining wall (5) towards a passage and a hinge region. In the inoperative position, the outer jaw (4b) is fixed, whereas the inner jaw (4a) is moveable inwards towards the resilient member.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 2017Date of Patent: December 15, 2020Inventors: Jean-Pierre Perret, Filadelfio Marletta

Publication number: 20070130585Abstract: This invention confers to an interactive audio/video entertainment system providing video-on-demand (VOD) services the abilities to automatically adapt to viewers tastes and preferences and download in advance the most likely viewing choices of each user, thereby freeing the system and its users from the real-time throughput constraints and availability limitations of the audio/video distribution network. Viewers are presented with a virtual video-rental-store paradigm offering a locally stored, and therefore immediately available for rental, selection of audio/video programs tailored to each viewer on the basis of observation by the system, in a transparent fashion, of the viewer's past choices.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 23, 2006Publication date: June 7, 2007Inventors: Pierre Perret, Mark Pearson

Patent number: 7072800Abstract: A computer-based method of formatting rules for monitoring application responsiveness, the method including defining a collection of resources, each such resource being a source of application events; and defining a first transaction as a timeframe for measuring application responsiveness. The first transaction includes a pattern of application events from resources in the collection of resources, the pattern being defined as a block of constructs, wherein each construct in the block of constructs is selected from a group of construct syntaxes consisting of an event construct syntax, a choice construct syntax, a sequence construct syntax, and a last construct syntax.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 2003Date of Patent: July 4, 2006Assignee: Computer Associates Think, Inc.Inventors: Gary Fernandez, Ken Kane, Pierre Perret, Krishnan Seetharaman, Mark Sylor, Wilson T. Patent number: 7055661Abstract: A shock absorber (1) includes a compression chamber (2) in which a piston (3) moves along a path of travel from a near end to a far end. The chamber includes a constant force mode bleed orifice (10) adjacent the far end and a series of progressive force bleed orifices (9a–9e) at spaced intervals between the near and far ends. An adjustment cylinder (12) has sloping arcuate apertures (13a–13e). As the cylinder (12) is rotated, one of the arcuate apertures aligns with the constant force orifice or the apertures align with the progressive force orifices in full or in part.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2001Date of Patent: June 6, 2006Assignee: Etablissements Jean PerretInventors: Michel Bertrand, Jean-Pierre Perret

Patent number: 6286640Abstract: A shock absorber (1) having a longitudinal axis of rotation (XX′) comprises a shock absorber body (2), a principal piston (4), which is supported by a piston rod (5), and a principal compression chamber (3), in which the principal piston (4) slides. The piston (4) divides the interior of the chamber (3) into a front internal portion and a rear internal portion. The sliding occurs wit the compression of the shock absorber (1) from the front to the rear internal portion. Further, the shock absorber (1) includes an elastic return device (8), a volume compensation device (9), hydraulic fluid (7), and at least one rolling channel. The rolling channel is comprised of at least one portion of the internal surface of the peripheral wall of the principal compression chamber (3) and at least one portion of the external wall of the principal piston (4).Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 1998Date of Patent: September 11, 2001Assignee: Etablissements Jean PerretInventors: Michel Bertrand, Jean-Pierre Perret

Patent number: 5958010Abstract: Systems and methods for automated monitoring and management of distributed applications, client/server databases, networks and systems across heterogeneous environment The invention employs distributed, automated intelligent monitoring agents with embedded sensing technology which is knowledgeable of application protocols, to monitor continuously the network environment in real time. To this end, the monitoring agent can be located on each client and server in the network. The monitoring agent can couple to the communications stack for monitoring the data that is being passed between the client and the network, of a server in the network. The data can be collected and employed for trouble shooting trend analysis, resource planning, security auditing, accounting and chargeback, as well as other applications.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 1997Date of Patent: September 28, 1999Assignee: FirstSense Software, Inc.Inventors: Neeraj Agarwal, Pierre Perret, Michael G. Patent number: 3936275Abstract: A method and an apparatus for the combustion of liquid sulphur in a combustion chamber. The injection device for the liquid sulphur and the primary air comprises a double spraying arrangement : a simple mechanical spraying device in which the liquid sulphur is driven through a spray nozzle without the aid of an auxiliary driving fluid and a pneumatic spraying device in which a turbulent rotational primary air stream mixes with the relatively coarse spray produced by the spray nozzle through a constriction zone and into the combustion chamber, transforming the relatively coarse spray into a relatively fine spray. The fine spray enters the combustion chamber at the apex of a conical end wall of the combustion chamber and is driven into contact with the conical end wall due to the whirling action of the primary air. Secondary air is introduced along the lateral walls of the combustion chamber, in order to protect these walls of refractory material from the radiation heat produced during combustion.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 1973Date of Patent: February 3, 1976Assignee: Societe Anonyme: Pechiney Ugine KuhlmannInventors: Jean-Pierre Perret, Bruno Vidon
