  • Patent number: 5387275
Abstract: The invention relates to the field of metallurgy and to a method and a device for the extraction of zinc in solution in a liquid iron bath (2) held in a container (3), such as a crucible for the casting of foundry parts. It is characterized in that, before utilizing the bath for the casting of parts, in a first phase, the gas volume (7) situated in the container (3) is sealingly confined in the east iron bath (2) and, in a second phase, a variable partial vacuum is created in the confined atmosphere in a controlled way in order to constantly adjust it to a predetermined value as a function of the time evolution of the pressure of vapor saturating zinc in solution in the melt at the bath temperature; and said zinc is trapped.

  • Patent number: 5249532
Abstract: A special wagon has at one end thereof a movable ramp which may be lowered simultaneously with buffers on the wagon. The movable ramp and a platform of the wagon carry rails on which the bogies can roll. Arranged in parallel with these rails are C-shaped slideways, in which are displaced chains, ends of which carry hooks for holding a bogie and for pulling it up the ramp and onto the platform. The chains and hydraulic jacks for maneuvering the ramp receive working fluid from a motor-driven pump unit via controls. The platform of the wagon carries systems for securing bogies for rail travel.

  • Patent number: 4710535
Abstract: The present invention relates to masterbatches for delustring processable polyamides. They contain 50 to 90% of a copolyamide used as a binder and consisting of 30 to 100% of hexamethylene adipamide units and 0-70% of caproamide units and 10 to 50% by weight of anatase titanium dioxide coated with 0.01 to 1.5% of silica and 1 to 3% of alumina and treated with a polydimethylsiloxane oil present in a proportion of 0.2 to 10% by weight of TiO.sub.2.They are obtained by adding TiO.sub.2 powder into the autoclave immediately after the pressure release stage, when the reaction mass is still at a high temperature and before vacuum is applied. The masterbatches according to the invention may be introduced directly into the liquid stream of the polymer to be spun.
