  • Patent number: 4850941
Abstract: The hydraulic tightener includes a body defining a cylindrical cavity, a piston slidably mounted in the cavity and a pressure-applying shoe for applying pressure against an endless connection such as a chain. Associated with the piston there is a high pressure chamber defined by part of the cavity and the piston, the high pressure chamber being connected to a source of hydraulic fluid under pressure through a check-valve. This high pressure chamber is fluidtight and has no orifice other than the orifice provided with the check-valve. The tightener also serves to lubricate the endless connection or chain by spraying the hydraulic fluid thereon.

  • Patent number: 4770399
Abstract: The packing print for receiving in particular component parts (2-7) of a timing gear of a heat engine provided with a camshaft and a crankshaft, comprises cavities (2a, 3a, 4a, 5a) adapted to receive the component parts (2-7), in particular a camshaft wheel (2), a crankshaft pinion (3), a tension-producing device (5) and a guiding device (7) for a transmission chain (4) or belt associated with the pinion (3) and the wheel (2), these cavities being so arranged that the component parts (2-7) received therein are pre-positioned and pre-oriented with respect to one another in the exact positions they must occupy on the engine so as to permit the mounting of the component parts simultaneously on the engine. This print permits carrying out the mounting very rapidly with no risk of error in the positioning of the component parts.

  • Patent number: 4650194
Abstract: Sealing joint between two housings (1, 2; 14, 15; 28, 29) connected by two orifices (7, 8; 9, 11; 31, 32) capable of being offset axially and/or radially, characterized in that it comprises two stays (18, 19; 33, 37), the first of which is provided with a packing means (21, 34) made of elastic material, intended to come up against one of the housings under axial compression, so as to provide a seal in the axial direction, while the second stay (19, 37) is equipped with a packing means (22, 36) made of elastic material, intended to bear on a surface of the second housing (14, 29) and working under radial compression, and in that the two stays (18, 19; 33, 37) are joined to one another by means of an elastic joint (24, 35) providing a seal between the stays and working under radial compression and/or axial shearing.
