  • Patent number: 7567587
Abstract: A method and architecture for the extraction of data from or the insertion of data into Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) or Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) frames is disclosed. The method and architecture provides an interface that permits the time-multiplexed data streams being extracted or inserted to have variable data-rates and no fixed alignment with respect to each other. The extraction and insertion interface accommodates for variable POH data rates and alignment inconsistencies of POH bytes amongst different paths due to floating pointer positions. The interface operates at the lowest possible frequency that can still accommodate the minimum spacing between any two consecutive words of data for a given data stream. In the insertion case, the frequency of operation chosen also allows the pipelining of requests as well as the pipelining of the subsequent associated data in response.

  • Patent number: 7347244
Abstract: A membrane applicator comprises a wheeled carriage adapted to ride on a surface to be covered with the membrane. A roll mount system is provided on the carriage to support a roll of membrane thereon. A press roll is mounted to the carriage for pressing the membrane against the surface to be covered as the membrane is being unrolled from said roll mount system as a result of a displacement of the carriage on the surface. The applicator is particularly well suited for applying bituminous membrane on flat roof surfaces of commercial and industrial buildings.

  • Patent number: 7307402
Abstract: A method of charging an electrochemical generator having a plurality of electrochemical cells. The method includes the step of charging the plurality of electrochemical cells such that the total voltage of the generator reaches a predetermined voltage level, followed by the steps of selecting a particular electrochemical cell and charging the particular electrochemical cell to its respective maximum voltage, such that the cathode(s) of the particular electrochemical cell is(are) restored to a fully-charged state. Once it has been restored to its fully-charged state, the particular electrochemical cell is allowed to discharge itself down to a nominal voltage. Each of the plurality of electrochemical cells of the generator is selected and charged to its respective maximum voltage in turn, according to a predetermined selection sequence.

  • Patent number: 7132832
Abstract: A self-diagnosis system for an energy storage device, the latter including a plurality of electrochemical cells connected in series or parallel to form a cell string. The self-diagnosis system correlates a state of health of the battery based on the internal resistance value of each electrochemical cell of the energy storage device and determines a corresponding battery initial capacity which enables the self-diagnosis system to evaluate the exact capacity of the battery at any given time.
