Patent number: 11816317Abstract: A computer system stores information for a plurality of layouts of one or more user interface elements locally. Each layout corresponds to at least one type of display device, and includes one or more objects associated with the one or more user interface elements. Upon receiving a request for rendering a first user interface element on a display device, the computer system identifies a type of the display device and determines a first one of the at least one type of display device accordingly. The computer system then extracts information for a first layout corresponding to the first one of the at least one type of display device (e.g., information for a subset of objects that is stored with the first layout and corresponds to the first user interface element), and renders the subset of objects corresponding to the first user interface element on the display device accordingly.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2021Date of Patent: November 14, 2023Assignee: Google LLCInventors: Jason Bayer, Pierre-Yves Laligand, Leo Baghdassarian

Publication number: 20210382917Abstract: This application is directed to performing a plurality of activities each of which is performed in a respective application with content associated with a content type selected from a group consisting of television programming, online content, on-device application, information views, and other content types. Each activity is associated with a timestamp, and described using a predefined format covering an action and content associated with the action. Each of the plurality of activities is then logged into an activities log in accordance with the predefined format. A plurality of user selectable affordances are displayed concurrently in a home screen on a display of the client device. Each of the affordances is associated with one of the plurality of activities performed with associated content, and the plurality of affordances includes at least two affordances associated with two distinct activities of the plurality of activities performed by two distinct applications.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 23, 2021Publication date: December 9, 2021Inventors: Pierre-Yves Laligand, Stephen Shiu Lam Leung, Justin Koh, Richard William Bragg

Patent number: 10327024Abstract: A system, computer-readable storage medium storing at least one program, and a computer-implemented method for obtaining video streams is presented. A device-agnostic request to obtain a video stream is received from an application executing on a client device, the device-agnostic request including a universal resource identifier (URI) for the video stream, the URI including a type of the video stream and at least one of a name of the video stream and device-specific parameters for the video stream. The URI is analyzed to identify a media device from which the video stream is available. A device-specific library for the media device is identified. A device-specific request corresponding to the device-agnostic request is executed to obtain the video stream, the device-specific request including the URI. The video stream is received from the media device responsive to executing the device-specific request. The video stream is provided to the application.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2018Date of Patent: June 18, 2019Assignee: GOOGLE LLCInventors: Justin Koh, Pierre-Yves Laligand
