  • Patent number: 9397486
Abstract: A system and method for coupling electrical power subsea. The system comprises a subsea electrical distribution system having at least one modular subsea circuit breaker assembly. The modular circuit breaker comprises a busbar enclosure housing a busbar. In one embodiment, the bus bar enclosure is pressurized with sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) gas. At least one circuit breaker enclosure housing a subsea circuit breaker is secured to the busbar enclosure. The interior of the busbar enclosure may be sealed from the interior of the circuit breaker enclosure. The circuit breaker enclosure may be pressurized with SF6 gas.

  • Patent number: 9379544
Abstract: A system for coupling electrical power subsea. The system comprises a subsea electrical distribution system having at least one modular circuit breaker assembly. The modular circuit breaker assembly may receive power from one or both of a subsea AC power cable and a subsea DC power cable. If power is lost from one subsea power cable, the modular circuit breaker assembly enables power to be provided to subsea loads from the other subsea power cable. The system comprises a subsea motor operable to drive a subsea pump or compressor.

  • Patent number: 9343880
Abstract: A system and method for coupling electrical power subsea. The system comprises a subsea electrical distribution system having at least one modular subsea circuit breaker assembly. The modular subsea circuit breaker assembly may be coupled to sources of power and/or subsea loads via one or more subsea power cable harness assemblies. The modular subsea circuit breaker assembly has at least electrical connector. Each subsea power cable harness assembly has a corresponding electrical connector. At least one of these electrical connectors is extendable to engage an electrical connector opposite it.

  • Patent number: 9281666
Abstract: A system and method for coupling electrical power subsea. The system comprises a subsea electrical distribution system having at least one modular circuit breaker assembly. The modular circuit breaker assembly is controlled by a control system that has a plurality of circuit breaker controls. Each circuit breaker is operable to be controlled by a plurality of circuit breaker controls and each circuit breaker control is operable to control a plurality of circuit breakers. Therefore, control of each circuit breaker is maintained even if one circuit breaker control fails.
