  • Publication number: 20180345837
Abstract: A coupling unit for connecting a support structure to an elongated side member comprises a body and a recess. The recess is configured to receive a wire member of the support structure. The coupling unit is configured to be connected to the elongated side member by a snap fit. The elongated side member may be part of a frame of a seat.

  • Publication number: 20090302653
Abstract: A support structure for a seat is provided comprising two lateral side wires (1, 2) and a plurality of transverse wires (4-12) extending between the two lateral side wires (1, 2) is provided. The plurality of transverse wires (4-12) comprises a first transverse wire having a first convolution (4A-12A, 4B-12B) and a second transverse wire having a second convolution (4A-12A, 4B-12B). According to the invention, a shape of said first convolution (4A-12A, 4B-12B) is different from a shape of said second convolution (4A-12A, 4B-12B) for example by varying a dimension like the height of said shapes. With such an arrangement, the transversal resiliency of the support structure may be varied and thus adapted to load bearing requirements.

  • Publication number: 20090174241
Abstract: In an adjustable lumbar support device, a wire framework essentially consisting of two lateral side wires (4) and a plurality of transverse wires (8) is connected to a seat frame via a pair of support means (5), each preferably formed of a wire. A first connecting portion (5a) of the support means (5) is pivotably connected to a respective longitudinal side of the seat frame. A second connecting portion (5b) is connected to one of the lateral side wires (4). A third connecting portion (5c) is coupled to the third connecting portion (5c) of the support means (5) located on the opposite longitudinal side of the seat frame by means of an actuating means (10), preferably formed by a Bowden cable. In response to the action of the actuating means (10), the third connecting portions are pulled toward each other, thereby pivoting the support means (5) and moving the wire framework in a direction perpendicular to its plane.

  • Publication number: 20090026811
Abstract: In a seat with a table function, an upper portion of the backrest can be pivoted forward so as to bring a back surface of the backrest into a horizontal position so that it can be used as a table. A support structure (2) in the form of an articulated suspension is provided which provides support for upholstery of the seat and at the same time also gives the necessary freedom to the backrest to be pivoted forward. The support structure (2) comprises a first portion (2a) and a second portion (2b) which are connected so as to be pivotable with respect to each other. Both the first portion (2a) and the second portion (2b) are essentially formed of a wire framework consisting of a pair of lateral side wires (4a, 4b) and transverse wires (8a, 8b) extending between the lateral side wires (4a, 4b).

  • Patent number: 7089631
Abstract: A mounting hook for a wire array mountable on a seat frame has a first portion having a seating member running longitudinally along the first portion, a second portion having a channel running across the top of the hook and outboard of the hooking surface, and a hooking member running transversely to the channel and parallel to the seating member. The first, second and third portions define a hooking surface. A method of seat assembly consists of a wire array connecting to mounting hooks by running a mounting wire through the wire seating member of the mounting hook. Such wire is then bent to a transverse angle. After such wire is bent, the mounting hook is slid to the bent area. The bent area is then placed into the channel. The wire array is then ready for mounting on the seat frame through the use of the hooks.
