  • Publication number: 20110225890
Abstract: A gate for selectively restricting passage through a passageway includes a frame having a sill and first and second door jambs adapted for mounting within the passageway. A door is mounted by hinges to the first door jamb while a latch receptacle is mounted to the second door jamb. A pedal is movably mounted to the door as is a latch element. The latch element is slidable between an extended position, where the latch element engages the latch receptacle so that the door of the gate is locked in a closed position, and a retracted position, where the latch element is removed from the latch receptacle so that the door may be moved into an open position. A sliding linkage is connected between the pedal and the latch element so that the latch element is moved into the retracted position when the pedal is actuated. A magnet is positioned in the latch element and in the latch receptacle so as to pull the latch element into the extended position when the latch element is not engaged by the sliding linkage.

  • Patent number: 6471253
Abstract: An insert coupling for connecting a flexible pipe section to another part comprises a housing with a first cylindrical bore, a sealing ring, which is effective between the flexible pipe section and the cylindrical bore, a clamping bush with a cylindrical inner surface, which in the region near the insertion side is followed by a conical part, and a clamping ring, accommodated in the clamping bush and provided with at least one radially inward projecting tooth. The conical part of the clamping bush by way of the clamping ring exerts a clamping force on the flexible pipe section when a load occurs on the flexible pipe section in the axial direction towards the insertion side. The clamping ring is formed as a ring cut through substantially in the axial direction at one point.

  • Patent number: 6314589
Abstract: A toilet lid lock for maintaining a toilet lid in a closed position. The toilet lid lock is comprised of an upper portion including a horizontally extending arm and a vertically extending stem and a base including a flange portion with slots and a sleeve. The stem of the upper portion is inserted into the sleeve of the base. The height of the arm is adjusted by a set screw positioned in the sleeve. The arm is positioned across a toilet lid and prevents the toilet lid from being lifted. The arm is unlocked when a user presses a release button and rotates the arm so that it is parallel to the tank ofthe toilet. The toilet lid is then free to be lifted to an upright position. Once the toilet lid is lowered, the toilet lid lock automatically resets by rotating the arm back to its original position.

  • Patent number: 5369923
Abstract: Window construction, intended to be placed in a door, panel or wall, in particular of so-called sandwich construction, the window construction comprising an outer part and an inner part, each composed of a window of transparent material, merging into a peripheral edge provided with means for fastening the outer or inner part, while annular coverings are present, separate from the peripheral edge and the window, in order to conceal the inside of the panel or the wall from view. Said annular coverings are each quadrilaterally symmetrical, but have mutually different dimensions, so that they can be slid into each other during fitting.
