  • Patent number: 11597634
Abstract: A method of planning a platform lift, in particular a stairlift, at a stair, the platform lift including a rail, a platform, in particular a chair, a drive unit for driving the platform along the rail, wherein the platform is attached to the drive unit. The method includes acquiring 3D stair data of a stair on which the platform lift is to be installed; calculating based on the acquired 3D stair data a path of travel of the rail, and by retrieving manufacturing constraints, in particular from a database, calculating a feasible path of travel under consideration of the retrieved manufacturing constraints.

  • Patent number: 11593537
Abstract: A method of planning a platform lift. The platform lift includes a rail, platform, chair, and a drive unit attached to the platform to drive the platform along the rail. The method includes acquiring 3D-data of a stair on which the platform lift is to be installed utilizing an augmented reality device. Calculating a travel path of the rail is based on acquired 3D-data and predetermined clearance information. Visualizing part or all of the platform lift is based on the calculated path of travel via the augmented reality device. Acquiring the 3D-data includes observing the stair with the augmented reality device; marking several locations and confirming the locations via a user input; extracting surface information via a computer based analysis of the markings and optical information taken by the augmented reality device. Based on the optical information and predetermined clearance information the path of travel is calculated.

  • Publication number: 20210379078
Abstract: This invention is based on the discovery that inhibiting more than one pathway in senescent cells leading to apoptosis has a profound effect: namely, increasing the potency or the cell specificity of the therapy. Combining a Bcl inhibitor with an Mcl 1 inhibitor increases the ability of the Bcl inhibitor to remove senescent cells from the site of an adverse condition synergistically. This increases the types of senescent cells that can be targeted, broadens the therapeutic range, and allows the user to tailor a particular combination of agents by adjusting the molar ratio for the patient being treated. Suitable indications for treatment may include any condition thought to be mediated at least in part by senescent cells, such as ophthalmic conditions, pulmonary conditions, and atherosclerosis.

  • Patent number: 8942539
Abstract: Method to enable a local system time clock counter (STC) of a receiving recording device to lock to program clock reference (PCR) information comprised in a received real time sequence of information signal packets, such as MPEG2 Transport Stream packets. The method comprising determining the number of cycles between arrival of the first information signal packet and the arrival of the information signal packet comprising the first Program Clock Reference (PCR) information. This information is stored as an attribute of the stored sequence.

  • Patent number: 8923139
Abstract: A system is provided for identifying service affecting conditions in an access portion of a network through which a number of subscribers are connected to an exchange. The access network includes subscriber lines connected to DSL subscriber modems. The system includes a receiver for receiving pilot signals from a modem connected to one of the subscriber lines. A measuring unit is operatively associated with the receiver for measuring electrical characteristics of the received pilot signals. A controller is operatively associated with the measuring unit and uses the measured electrical characteristics to identify a service affecting condition. The subscriber modem pilot signals include differential mode signals and the measuring unit measures common mode of each wire of the subscriber line. By using combinations of measurements and deductive logic, the system can detect one or more service affecting conditions.

  • Patent number: 8296582
Abstract: In a method for providing copy-protection services on a storage medium (for instance a solid state memory module), the data are arranged in sectors to which a field (S4T) is associated, where said field contains a random value Ri which is changed randomly when writing data to said sector. By encrypting the data stored on the medium using a key which depends critically on said random numbers, bit-by-bit copies (apart from said random numbers, which can not be deterministically changed by an application) to a second storage medium or recopies from some intermediate storage medium, can not be decrypted because the values of said random numbers will have changed, thus preventing unauthorized duplication and replay attacks.

  • Publication number: 20060090030
Abstract: A storage device for recording and retrieving information blocks on a removable record carrier is described. Via an interface (44) the device receives commands, user data blocks and meta data blocks comprising file management information. The device has a non-volatile memory (31), a meta data block detection unit (47), and a control unit (20). The device temporarily stores the meta data blocks in the non-volatile memory until detecting an update condition, e.g. an eject command. The update condition indicates that the removable record carrier is to be updated to a state in which the record carrier is usable in a different storage device. In the event that the update condition has been detected the meta data blocks are transferred from the non-volatile memory to the record carrier (49).
