  • Patent number: 4923131
Abstract: This invention relates to rotary impact crusher rotors used to communicate rock and to such rotors which are of substantially triangular shape having outlets at the apices of the triangle. This results in a rotor having reduced wearing surfaces and also avoids destruction or explosion of the rotor in the event of an excessive build up of rock in the crusher chamber.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 6, 1988
Date of Patent: May 8, 1990
Inventors: Pieter J. Rossouw, Jan H. Rossouw
  • Patent number: 4877192
Abstract: This invention relates to replaceable wear resistant components for rotary impact crushers and more particularly to the wear resistant assemblies at the outlets from the crusher rotor the outlet trailing edge main wear tip comprises a backing plate having secured to its forward end a wear resistant assembly forming a step which will be inwardly directed in use with respect to the rotor outlet the step being sufficient to cause a build up behind the step of material being crushed to form a protective lining against the inner wall of the rotor.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 6, 1988
Date of Patent: October 31, 1989
Inventors: Pieter J. Rossouw, Jan H. Rossouw
  • Patent number: 4844364
Abstract: This invention relates to rotary impact crushers designed to provide a lining of rock to the crusher chamber walls against which crushing can take place and more particularly a lining of arcuate shape in vertical cross-section so that rock rebounding from the lining tends to follow the arcuate shape and follow a downward path towards and across that of the rock discharged from the rotor outlets.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 6, 1988
Date of Patent: July 4, 1989
Inventors: Pieter J. Rossouw, Jan H. Rossouw
  • Patent number: 4844365
Abstract: This invention is concerned with a rotary impact crusher for the comminution of rock and wherein the crusher chamber is designed so that an inspection door forms part of the crusher chamber wall enabling not only inspection but also replacement of the rotor wear parts to be achieved quickly and easily. The crusher also has a rotor of substantially triangular shape with wear tip and liner assemblies retained in position by the forces experienced during use of the crusher.
