  • Patent number: 8185082
Abstract: A diversity FM radio receiver comprises two tuners for simultaneously tuning to the same FM channel. To avoid disturbances between the local oscillator signals of the tuners and to be able to use standard IF filters, one of the tuners operate with high-side LO injection and the other tuner operates with low-side LO-injection. To equalize the frequencies of the signals to be subjected to the diversity operation the two IF-signals of the tuners are fed to complex mixers with oppositely rotating phases.

  • Patent number: 7016660
Abstract: An antenna diversity receiving system is disclosed which includes an antenna device with a plurality of FM antennas and a controllable switching circuit for sequentially switching through one of the plurality of FM antennas via an antenna cable to a receiver upon reception of a switching control signal. The receiver has a multipath detector coupled to a pulse generator for generating a pulse signal to be used as such switching control signal. To secure accurate detection of the switching control signal, the pulse generator is coupled to a pulse shaper to convert the pulse signal of the pulse generator into a pulse signal pair. The pulse signal pair has a first signal pulse followed by a second signal pulse having a signal polarity opposite to the signal polarity of the first signal pulse. The pulse signal pair has a waveform varying symmetrically around a reference level and is supplied through the antenna cable to the antenna device.

  • Patent number: 6931081
Abstract: An antenna diversity receiver is disclosed. The diversity receiver has a multipath detector for controlling an antenna selective switching circuit. The switching circuit couples one of a plurality of antennas to a RF receiver input. The receiver allows suppression of adjacent channel interferences without unwanted side effects by employing a switching disabling circuit to automatically disabling the switching circuit when the signal delay between the occurrence of multipath distortions in the RF reception signal and the switching between antennas exceeds a predetermined critical signal delay value.

  • Patent number: 6807404
Abstract: An antenna diversity receiver with a variable delay time for antenna switching is disclosed. The antenna diversity receiver includes an antenna selective switching means for coupling one of a plurality of antennas to a RF receiver input. A multipath detector controls the antenna selective switching means. A switching disabling means automatically disables the antenna selective switching means over a disabling period. In order to accurately immunize the receiver the disabling period is controlled by an adjacent channel detector to increase the period with increasing adjacent channel interferences and to decrease the period with descreasing channel interferences.
