The image area of interest is then displayed at a resolution that is higher than the resolution at which the entire radiographic image can be displayed on a display device.

A pyramidal decomposition is stored and retrieved to be applied to at least two different processing cycles, processed images are obtained by application of a reconstruction algorithm.
