  • Patent number: 4610085
Abstract: A hair trimmer comprises a first cutter reciprocatory relative to a second cutter, the two cutters having parallel cutting edges provided with teeth; a resilient element urging the two cutters towards one another; and a coupling member coupled to the first cutter. The resilient element includes a central portion acting on the second cutter and adjoined by two resilient limbs extending from the central portion through an opening in the first cutter and then away from one another in opposite directions corresponding to the directions of the reciprocatory movement of the first cutter, the distal ends of the resilient limbs exerting pressure on the first cutter and bearing against the coupling member.

  • Patent number: 4490905
Abstract: A shaving apparatus having a housing includes a trimmer movable relative to the housing between a latched position and an operating position. The trimmer comprises a holder, a pair of cutters arranged in the holder, and a slidable actuating button associated with the holder. A connecting element is secured to the actuating button and has oppositely extending resilient arms, the distal end of each such arm being formed as a latching member engageable behind a wall portion of the housing to hold the trimmer in the latched position. Each latching member has a cam surface inclined relative to the direction of movement of the actuating button and cooperative with the holder. The latching members are disengaged from the respective wall portions of the housing to release the trimmer for movement to the operating position upon movement of the actuating button.

  • Patent number: 4318223
Abstract: A shaving apparatus comprises a housing and a shaving head provided with at least one shaving unit having a stationary cutting member and a cooperating cutting member drivable by means of a motor and a coupling spindle. At a location near the rim of each stationary cutting member the housing is provided with an axially adjustable pin, one end of which engages such rim. The stationary cutting member is engaged and supported by a resilient element at another location near its rim, the stationary cutting member being pivotable about the axially adjustable pin against the action of the resilient element. The other end of each axially adjustable pin engages an inclined contact face of a flexible endless band. By means of an actuating arm and an actuating knob on the housing wall, this flexible endless band is movable in a direction substantially transverse of the axial direction of each pin.

  • Patent number: 4250617
Abstract: There is provided a shaving apparatus having a holder for at least two and preferably three cutting units arranged in a triangular pattern therein. A raised portion extends over that area of the holder situated centrally with respect to the cutting units, such portion being raised with respect to the periphery of the holder. Desirably such raised portion of the holder gradually slopes downwardly towards the periphery of the holder. An adjustable skin-tautening device is mounted at the periphery of the holder.

  • Patent number: 4168570
Abstract: A shaving apparatus comprises a shaving cap provided with a flange extending outwardly within a housing; a cutting member rotatable relative to the shaving cap and spring-urged into engagement therewith, such shaving cap being inwardly depressable against the spring; two diametrically opposite stops provided in the housing adjacent the flange; and a third stop provided in the housing also adjacent the flange, whereby the cap can be pivoted about the diametrically opposite stops.
