  • Patent number: 10380227
Abstract: A novel method of facilitating the authoring of content and the delivery of the authored content to different types of device is provided. The method supports the design of unique and aesthetically pleasing content while minimizes the amount of effort required from authors and/or publishers. The method does so by creating one single content presentation structure (CPS) for the authored content that is adaptable to different devices and different orientations. Such a universally adaptable content presentation structure is based on a standardized grid system that the publishers can easily become familiar with to author their content.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 30, 2015
Date of Patent: August 13, 2019
    Assignee: Apple Inc.
Inventors: Jean S. Metz, Pepijn T. Zoon, Robin Pieter van Dijke

  • Publication number: 20160299657
Abstract: The embodiments herein describe methods for displaying and navigating across content items in a content item list on a portable electronic device. For example, the embodiments herein describe a method for displaying a content item list adjacent to a content item view. The content list view includes a representation of the first content item and representations of previous and next content items. While the content list view is displayed, a movement of the touch input along the content list is detected, responsive to detection, the content item list is scrolled and a second content item is selected. The selected content item is displayed in the content item view adjacent to the content list view. An indication that the representation of a second content item in the content list view is currently selected is displayed.

  • Patent number: 7009000
Abstract: Disclosed is an improvement to a process for preparing coupled styrenic block copolymers wherein adding from about 0.01 to about 1.5 equivalents of a metal alkyl compound per equivalent of living polymer chain ends to the cement, during or after polymerization, improves coupling efficiencies. The resultant radial styrenic block copolymers have reduced amounts of 5+ arm oligomers which can be very desirable is certain applications, such as the modification of bitumen.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 11, 2003
Date of Patent: March 7, 2006
    Assignee: Kraton Polymers U.S. LLC
Inventors: Robert Bening, Harvey Atwood, Marinus Pieter van Dijk, Adriana Maria Petronella Ros, Barry Moore, Carl Willis, Nikolaas Jan van Dijk

  • Patent number: 4564812
Abstract: A nuclear magnetic resonance tomography apparatus includes a Faraday cage which shields the measurement space against stray electromagnetic fields, and increases the Q factor of a coil circuit comprising the transmitting/receiving coils of the apparatus. This Faraday cage is arranged around the object space inside the magnetic coils for generating the necessary steady magnetic field, but around and outside the RF transmitting/receiving coil. The transmitting/receiving coil may be provided with comb-like screens which shield against electrical fields, and the Faraday cage may include a readily accessible extension having larger transverse dimensions.

  • Patent number: 4176310
Abstract: A device comprising a transformer for step-wise varying voltages in which, in order to prevent undesired oscillations in the transformer, a circuit is included in the connection lead thereof, said circuit comprising at least one inductive element and at least one rectifying element. The inductance of the inductive element is a number of times higher than the leakage inductance of the transformer. The circuit has the property that the current through the inductive element (elements) does not change its direction when the sign of the voltage between its connection terminals is reversed.
