Abstract: An aerosolization module for an aerosol generating device includes a bottom end, an opposite top end provided with a mouthpiece, a first air path for the aerosol flow, and a second air path configured to be in fluidic communication with a puff sensor. The first air path includes a first section in which dry air sucked into a first air inlet flows from top to bottom, and a second section in which the aerosol formed by vaporization of the vaporizable material in the dry air flows from bottom to top. The aerosolization device is located inside the module, and the first air inlet is located above the aerosolization device in a bottom to top direction. The mouthpiece is at the top end of the module, and the first air inlet is made through a bottom portion of the mouthpiece. The position of the first air inlet can thus be optimized.

Abstract: A refillable cartridge for an electronic smoking device includes a cartridge housing, a liquid storage reservoir, and an energy application device for generating an aerosol from liquid received from the reservoir, wherein the reservoir includes an opening having an opening width, which is temporary closed by a sealing layer including a valve, wherein the valve includes a valve member which is overlapping at least parts with the opening along its width direction, the valve member is bendable in an opening direction, which is orthogonal to the width direction, and a thickness of the valve member in the opening direction differs along its width direction. A method for manufacturing a refillable cartridge and a method for refilling a refillable cartridge are also provided.

Abstract: The invention relates to a battery module for an aerosol generating system. It comprises a battery extending substantially in a longitudinal direction and a printed circuit board assembly connected to the battery. The battery comprises along the longitudinal direction a first portion of a first thickness, and a second portion comprising opposite faces defining a second thickness, the second thickness being less than the first thickness. The printed circuit board assembly is electrically connected to the second portion of the battery on one of said opposite faces. This allows spatial optimization of the battery module. The invention also relates to a corresponding aerosol generating system, and to a corresponding set comprising a battery charger.

Abstract: An aerosolization module for an aerosol generating device includes a reservoir configured to contain a vaporizable material, a heater including a wick which is configured to imbibe liquid by capillarity, and a liquid path for providing liquid from the reservoir to the heater that includes at least one liquid channel that fluidically connects the reservoir to the wick, the liquid channel including a porous pad in contact with the wick. The porous pad improves the reliability in the supply of vaporizable material to the heater.

Abstract: An electronic cigarette is described which comprises an outer housing sleeve having an open end and a closed end and a functional insert comprising electrical components, wherein the functional insert is arranged to be introduced through the open end of the outer housing sleeve and is held within the outer housing sleeve. By grouping the functional electronic components together on the functional insert and by providing the device housing in the form of a sleeve, the assembly process is simplified as the functional components can be assembled in a first assembly step and then subsequently sleeved within the outer housing in a single step, thus reducing the complexity of the assembly procedure.
