    Abstract: A technology for a client streaming content of a server is provided. The technology includes a service installed in the client that receives the content from the server instead of a media player, downloads the content in a cache having a larger capacity than a memory buffer of the media player, and then transfers data stored in the cache to the media player. Accordingly, even when the memory buffer is full, data reception from the server is not stopped, and thus power consumption of the server and the client may be reduced. Also, since a connection to the server is performed by the service instead of the media player, various socket interfaces may be supported without having to change the media player, and since data is stored in the cache, a buffering time may be reduced.
